About this property
Located in the village of Trefor in Gwynedd, close to beautiful beaches and coastline, is this family-friendly, mid-terrace property, Penmaen House. The holiday home sits on the spectacular Llŷn Peninsula, where you're sure to fall in love with North Wales and its stunning, natural scenery. Benefiting from a well-equipped kitchen, you'll find everything you need for a self-catering stay, along with outdoor seating, local amenities a stone's throw away, and dog-friendly accommodation. Be welcomed into the bright and airy open-plan living space, fantastic for gathering friends for dinner around the table for six or relaxing in the sitting area, where two plush sofas and a TV await. The beautifully fitted kitchen is sure to please the group's chef, complete with an electric oven, induction hob, dishwasher, and washer/dryer, so you can keep beach towels and swimming gear fresh. After dinner, find a quiet spot to unwind with a cold beverage in your private patio area with bistro-style seating. Head upstairs to find two of three bedrooms, a double and a super-king-size (zip/link), along with a family bathroom. The second floor has a quirky, twin bedroom in the attic, suitable for older children and adults. Trefor is a picturesque base for your holiday in North Wales; stop for dinner at Tafarn Y Tŵr, stock up on essentials at the local store, stroll along the scenic Traeth Trefor and venture on a coastal walk to Trefor Sea Stacks. There are plenty of idyllic locations along the peninsula, including hikes to the Tre'r Ceiri Hillfort, Nefyn, Aberdaron, and the surfing haven of Abersoch, not far from the breath-taking Porth Neigwl (Hell's Mouth) and the National Trust's Plas yn Rhiw, a 16th-century Georgian house. Pwllheli with its popular beach and Criccieth are also within reach, a must for historians hoping to explore Castell Criccieth, as well as the renowned Bron Eifion Fishing Lakes for coarse fishing. Venturing further afield, you'll find the gorgeous, Italianate village of Portmeirion with stunning views of the Dwyryd Estuary, along with the historic Porthmadog, and Snowdonia National Park for unforgettable mountain hikes and outdoor adventures. If you want to cover more ground, jump on the Ffestiniog & Welsh Highland Railways or the Welsh Highland Railway to experience vintage train rides through idyllic countryside. Trefor is a small village overlooking Caernarfon Bay, in North Wales. It is home to a convenience store, Post Office and licensed social club, as well as a harbour. Surrounded by sea and mountains, this village is a great base for exploring the surrounding countryside, as well as being close to the edge of the popular Snowdonia National Park, being just 5 miles away, with many well-trekked and planned routes ready to be walked. Caernarfon is also close by, which boasts more choice for pubs and restaurants.
