Guests say

Halford Hill is a spacious cottage in Llanberis, ideal for large groups and families. Its prime location is perfect for exploring Snowdonia and enjoying local amenities. The property offers a large dining area and a sauna, adding to the comfort of guests. While some guests noted the need for updates and a deep clean, the house generally provides a warm and welcoming stay.

Reviews indicate that cleanliness is inconsistent, with several guests noting the need for a deeper clean and attention to detail. Issues such as dust, grime, and leftover rubbish were mentioned, suggesting room for improvement in this area.

The property's location is highly praised, being situated in the heart of Llanberis and close to Snowdonia's attractions. Its proximity to local shops, restaurants, and the lake makes it an ideal base for exploring the area.

Guests find the property comfortable overall, with ample space and a warm atmosphere. However, some guests mentioned issues with heating and the quality of mattresses, indicating that while the property is generally comfortable, there are areas that could be enhanced.

The facilities are appreciated, especially the large dining table and sauna. However, guests have reported maintenance issues such as broken heating and showers, and some kitchen equipment needing replacement. The property is functional but would benefit from updates and repairs.

There is insufficient information to accurately score thoughtfulness. While some guests appreciated the provision of items the next day after a call to the owner, there is no consistent mention of gifts or special touches that would indicate a level of thoughtfulness.

Nice to see some work has been done (a few new beds and possibly some painting?), but the same old issues, extremely damp smell downstairs, questionable cleanliness of all crockery etc ( the plates are too big for the dishwasher so don't bother trying to wash them in there), filthy glasses and grubby cutlery. Dishwasher filter was revolting and needed scrubbing well. Fridge needs labelling that the bottom shelf will freeze your salad solid. Kitchen really needs a very deep clean. Still got a very dodgy loose tile on the kitchen floor which bites you if you aren't careful. Not offering towels is a mystery to me when most other houses do. Sauna is fab, but the downstairs bathroom really needs some TLC - grubby and very sad looking. But we'll keep coming back for the value spread over a group of 12 people. Don't expect luxury and you won't be disappointed. Oh, and bring your own sharp knives, the ones there are absolutely hopeless. Wifi needs some extenders to get it reliably throughout the house too.

There was ample parking space, the conservatory was ideal for storing wetsuits, life jackets etc and the fact that the lake was just 5 mins walk away was amazing. There were plenty of places to walk to and also many interesting places within reasonable driving distances. Some of our family enjoyed the challenge of climbing Snowdon. We look forward to returning next year.

The parking area is smaller than advertised and we only had one large car. The sauna was a warm welcome and looks new. The bedrooms were clean and the beds were very comfortable. The kitchen is well stocked with utensils. However the cleanliness left a lot to be desired. The table was tacky to touch even when we cleaned it. The blind was ripped and in a bad state. The oven hadn’t been cleaned in a very long time and covered in grease. The bin is rusted and dirty. Overall the house surfaces were clean but the details ie skirting boards were dirty. It’s in the detail that unfortunately let it down a little. A good position in the town.
