Bwthyn y Mor is a well-regarded cottage in Borth-Y-Gest, appreciated for its cleanliness, comfort, and prime location close to the beach and coastal walks. Guests have enjoyed the well-equipped kitchen, spacious living areas, and the thoughtful touches provided. While some guests suggest updates and maintenance could enhance the experience, the property consistently offers a pleasant stay with many looking forward to returning.
The majority of guests found the cottage to be clean and well-kept, with several positive comments on its tidiness. A few guests mentioned areas that could benefit from deeper cleaning or attention, but these were not the norm.
The location is highly praised for its proximity to the beach, scenic walks, and the quiet, picturesque village of Borth-Y-Gest. It's also within easy reach of Porthmadog and other attractions, making it an ideal base for exploring.
Guests generally found the cottage comfortable, with good bedding and living spaces. Some guests mentioned that certain furniture could be updated for enhanced comfort, but overall satisfaction with the comfort level was high.
The cottage is well-equipped with kitchen essentials and entertainment options. However, some guests noted that certain aspects of the property, such as the garden and bathroom facilities, could benefit from refurbishment and maintenance.
Guests appreciated the thoughtful touches like hand wash, dishwasher tablets, and welcome treats such as tea, coffee, and biscuits. It should be noted that such gifts, while often provided, are subject to availability and not guaranteed.
Bwthyn y Mor is a lovely coastal-themed holiday cottage, decorated in muted, relaxing colours to aid you in a relaxing break. It has a sunny south-facing garden and overlooks a pretty village green in the popular seaside village of Borth y Gest on the Llyn Peninsula. Within walking distance are several beautiful sandy coves leading to the glorious and well known Black Rock Sands beach. Visitors to Borth y Gest return time and time again. It has a pretty bay and a popular bistro and tea shop, both with stunning views. A two-minute drive or a ten-minute walk will take you to Porthmadog, which has a great selection of shops, restaurants, bars and a supermarket to stock up on your holiday essentials. This is a great location from which to visit Snowdonia, Portmeirion and the Welsh Highland Railway - or, for something a little different, go llama trekking in Morfa Bychan! Ideal for a family, this is a welcoming house in a popular holiday hotspot. We're sure it will book quickly, so don't delay!
The Welsh beach town of Borth-y-Gest is quaint and picturesque, with its mostly Victorian architecture. Stunning panoramic views over the dunes and estuary to the old Harlech Castle and the Snowdonia National Park beyond can be seen from this picturesque Welsh settlement by the mouth of the River Glaslyn, which is only a short drive away from the Italian-style resort of Portmeirion. To idle away the hours observing the comings and goings of the local boatmen, you can visit one of the two bistros or the coffee lounge in this North Wales community, all of which are located on the front overlooking the bay and welcome dogs. Borth-y-Gest is a great place to go hiking because of its many secluded coves and sandy beaches. You may climb nearby Moel-y-Gest, take a stroll around the headland to the world-famous Black Rock Sands, or travel a bit further to the enormous Snowdonia National Park. From Porthmadog, a 15-minute stroll away, you can board the world-famous Ffestiniog Steam Railway and Welsh Highland Railway for a day of sightseeing, or, if you have younger kids, you could ride the shorter but more kid-friendly Welsh Highland Heritage Railway. The entire Llyn Peninsula is perfect for a day trip. Borth-y-Gest is the ideal base from which to explore the rest of North Wales, from Anglesey to the Wales Coast Path; it's secluded enough to feel like a true retreat, but close enough to all the action to be a must-see at any time of year.

Ideal for children to explore, and a safe grassy area outside the cottage for games etc. The cottage had everything we needed and a good sized, well equipped kitchen . The cottage was warm and cosy and the bedrooms were spacious and comfortable. Lots of great places to visit within short drives, we enjoyed the Ffestiniog Railway, and Black Rock sands â¦excellent for dog walking. The cottage has local information booklets and the owner provides suggestions for places to visit, shops and eateries, also relevant maps. Excellent communication with the owners who were most welcoming. Thank you for a great week, weâll be back!

We always feel very comfortable and âat homeâ there. The property is well stocked with everything you need in the kitchen and with plenty of games, books etc for a rainy day. It is ideally situated in a very quiet area only a couple of minutes walk from the small beach at the very picturesque Borth y Gest. The owners are always available on the phone if there is a problem and each time we go we can see new items have been added or replaced. We love this holiday home and will be returning again in the future.

Photo of back of house did not reflect current state. It says you can park 2 cars - not sure where you would park the second one as it is a small driveway. Next door one way with barking dogs other side large family with washing drapped over the garden hedges to dry. No hairdryer . had to put heating on to dry towels as the towel rail in bathroom was part of central heating. Very expensive for what it is - double bed was very flimsey and made noises everytime you moved. Good job we are not large people or i think it would have collapsed. has 6 beds but only one bathroom , wouldnt like to be in it with 6 people. Water pressure very low upstairs. dont try running a tap or flushing the loo while you are having a shower
