Siop Da Da in Porthmadog offers a superb location with easy access to local amenities, pubs, restaurants, and coastal walks. Guests appreciate the well-equipped kitchen and the provision of essentials for a comfortable stay. While some guests encountered issues with cleanliness and maintenance, the responsive caretaker and the property's charm seem to compensate for these inconveniences.
Cleanliness has been a concern for some guests, with reports of rubbish in the yard, a dirty microwave, and unemptied bins. However, the property was described as clean in another review, indicating inconsistency in this area.
The location is highly praised for its proximity to local attractions, pubs, restaurants, and the heritage railway, making it an ideal spot for exploring Porthmadog.
Comfort is generally well-regarded with mentions of ample towels and pillows. However, there were comments about a short duvet cover and a sofa covered in dog hair, suggesting room for improvement.
Facilities are adequate with a well-equipped kitchen, but there are issues with maintenance such as a leaking roof and problematic rear gates. Some essentials were missing, like washing up liquid and dishwasher tablets.
Thoughtfulness is evident with guests noting the provision of towels, pillows, and a kitchen pack. While gifts are not guaranteed, the attention to guest needs is apparent.

Sarah the caretaker was fantastic and helpful when we had a problem with Smart TV ....user problem not the TV. The only problem we had was we were unable to park outside so used the rear entrance to courtyard, we managed to park inside however the rear gates were falling apart due to age and hard to lock.

Plenty of towels, pillows etc, even down to a kitchen pack with washing up liquid, wash tabs etc, Would visit again.

Managed to park outside near the cottage (parking at the property is impossible unless you have very, I mean very small car). Kitchen well equipped, but important things were missing - no washing up liquid or sponge. No tablets for dishwasher neither. No hand soap in whole cottage. Bedroom ok. But duvet cover for very short for king-size bed. Water - good pressure and hot temperature. Cottage clean. Only bad thing was sofa cover - absolutely cover in dogs hair. But nothing we couldn't deal with vacuum cleaner ourselves.
