So close to the water you can practically dip your toe in, this delightful boathouse is an idyllic getaway just for two, and boasts lovely rural views. Walk or cycle the canal path or climb the local hills, then return to your home-from-home, where you can relax indoors or in the pretty garden.
Bright, fresh interiors with beautifully chosen fabrics, lovely furniture and interesting artworks make this a delightful destination. Enjoy the peaceful atmosphere in the lounge/diner, where you’ll find an elegant sofa and a Smart TV, perfect for an evening snuggled up with a movie, plus a large dining table where you can eat, play a board game or simply sit and discuss the day’s adventures. The kitchen has all you’ll need for creating filling cooked breakfasts or romantic suppers. When you’re feeling tired, head to the king-size bedroom, a gorgeous, tranquil space which has lovely views of the canal. The shower room, with its generously sized, walk-in shower, is just off the hallway. As for outside space, the private garden has a dining set on the lawn where you can indulge in a morning coffee, a sundowner or al fresco meal.
Located in the Usk Valley beneath the Black Mountains, the house is next to Bridge 81 on the Monmouthshire and Brecon Canal, perfect for scenic waterside walks or cycle rides. It’s within the Llanover Estate, and you may also visit the Grade II-listed Llanover Garden as part of your stay. Climb The Skirrid, Sugar Loaf or Blorenge, all within 10 miles, or join the Offa’s Dyke footpath at Pandy, 10 miles, for a steady climb then a ridge walk with stunning views. For something different, head to picturesque Crickhowell, 17 miles, where you’ll find shops, places to eat and drink, and the remains of a Norman castle.
