Guests say

The Hame is a well-received holiday cottage in Monmouth, praised for its spaciousness, cleanliness, and prime location. Guests appreciate the well-equipped facilities, including a full kitchen and comfortable furnishings. The property is ideal for groups and families, offering a homely feel and a responsive host. While parking can be challenging, it is manageable, and the property's central position is a strong advantage for exploring the area.

Guests consistently noted the property to be spotlessly clean upon arrival, indicating high standards of cleanliness. One isolated report of ants does not significantly impact the overall positive feedback.

The central location is highly praised for its convenience to shops, pubs, and restaurants, with easy access to local bus services for exploring nearby towns. The only minor drawback mentioned is the on-road parking situation.

Reviewers were very satisfied with the comfort provided by The Hame, mentioning comfy sofas and beds, and a spacious environment suitable for large groups and families.

The property is commended for its well-equipped kitchen, ample living spaces, and additional amenities like Wi-Fi and a barbecue. A suggestion for an additional bathroom and a single report of ants slightly affect the score.

While the reviews reflect a helpful and responsive host, there is no mention of gifts or special thoughtful touches that could be evaluated under this category. Therefore, the score is set to null.

The town is also home to the ruins of the riverside, Monmouth Castle and the Castle and Regimental Museum; continue the history excursion at the ruins of the 13th-century Skenfrith Castle or cross the border to tour St Briavels Castle or Goodrich Castle. The Wye Valley AONB offers outdoor enthusiasts an abundance of walking and hiking opportunities through rolling hills, dense woodlands and along the riverside. Make unforgettable memories at The Hame.

Located on the border between Wales and England and not far from the remarkable Offa's Dyke, this fascinating market town is a beautiful blend of old and new, from the ruins of an ancient castle to the bustling weekly market. The town's prime location at the meeting point of three rivers—the Wye, the Monnow, and the Trothy—makes it an ideal home base for those interested in river boating, scenic walks, and a little shopping, as well as those who simply wish to unwind by the river while watching the local rowers race and hone their craft. Besides being the birthplace of Henry V, Monmouth is also home to interesting historical sites including the Nelson Garden and a mediaeval bridge spanning the Monnow River that dates back to the 13th century (the only one of its kind in Britain). Even though it's a very small town, there's a surprising number of exciting attractions here. Short drives will take you to the historic towns of Usk, Abergavenny, and Ross-on-Wye, as well as the breath-taking landscapes of the Brecon Beacons, Forest of Dean, and Wye Valley. An ideal spot that caters to visitors of all ages.

Comfy sofas and beds, and a large dining table for meals. On-road parking was never an issue as found space in the evenings, and car parks nearby if needed for longer stays. Great base for exploring local area.

The owner was friendly and responsive to questions about the property Highly recommended

Three parties suffered numerous sever bites to thier legs and we noticed a significant number of ants in the living room, on the floor and dining table. When reported to the owner they were adamant no ants were found however, they were clelwry visible throughout our stay so not confident in the integrity of the owner.
