Granston Cottage is praised for its ideal location, comfortable setting, and well-equipped kitchen. Guests appreciate the cosy atmosphere, especially during inclement weather, and the property's proximity to beautiful coastal walks. The garden adds to the charm, although some guests noted issues with pet security. While some maintenance concerns were raised, the overall experience is seen as pleasant and the property welcoming.
The property is generally described as clean. However, one review mentioned a lack of tea towels and another pointed out a full fluff filter in the dryer, suggesting minor oversights in cleanliness.
The location is highly praised for being peaceful and ideal for exploring the Pembrokeshire coast. The proximity to nature and local attractions like Abermawr beach is a highlight for guests.
Guests find the cottage comfortable and cosy, with good heating and bed linen. However, some guests mentioned issues with bed comfort and a non-escape-proof garden for pets, which slightly detracts from the overall comfort.
The kitchen is well-equipped and the internet connection is good, but several reviews mention maintenance issues such as plumbing problems and a non-working radiator. These issues indicate room for improvement in facilities and maintenance.
There is no mention of gifts or special thoughtful touches provided by the hosts in the reviews, so it is not possible to assess the thoughtfulness of the property based on the available information.
Situated on a quiet country lane, close to Abermawr beach in the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park, this 200-year-old, traditionally furnished cottage makes an ideal base for a walking, cycling or relaxing holiday.
Nearby is the spectacular coastal headland of Strumble Head, where you can watch the wild ponies on the rugged headland or spot porpoises in the bay. The coastal bus passes the cottage and is a 'hail and ride' service which enables you to visit the many coves and bays along this stretch of the Pembrokeshire Coast Path and walk a different section each day. Fishguard and St Davids are within a few miles and each have a good selection of restaurants and shops. Other places to add to your 'must visit' list while in the area are Porthgain, Abereiddy, the Blue Lagoon, Solva and Newport.
Melin Tregwynt woollen mill, famous for its fabulous blankets, throws and unique handbags, is a few minutes’ walk from the cottage. The mill also has a lovely restaurant/cafe where you can enjoy local food and sometimes entertainment on summer weekends.
Fishguard is an ideal holiday destination on the award-winning Pembrokeshire Coast, which has been voted the second best coastal destination in the world according to the National Geographic magazine. The town itself has an array of gift shops, tea rooms, restaurants and pubs and offers the opportunity of viewing the superb Last Invasion Tapestry, which has been compared to the Bayeux Tapestry. Day trips to Ireland run daily and the picturesque Lower Fishguard Harbour is a delight for sailing enthusiasts. From this perfect holiday base you can enjoy the amazing coastline, the Pembrokeshire Coast Path, the beautiful Preseli Hills, where the Stonehenge Blue Stones originated, or explore the array of historic castles, working mills and visit the smallest city in Wales with its magnificent St. Davids Cathedral. Whatever you are looking for, this is a fantastic location for all ages.

Just down the road is Tregwynt woollen mill which is also worth a visit and has a great cafe. Beautiful area of north Pembs with its rugged cliffs and coves and enticing small harbours.

.. double bed slopes down ( head end), one of the single beds the springs were showing under the material, so could not be slept on for an adult. The garden was not as listing as wooden furniture not movable and the barn is closer than listing image showed. The bathroom is a little tired (side panel & stool), why does the red/blue bag to be kept inside as the smelt... All that said lovely location and clean.

It was not too fussy and we felt comfortable immediately. I would recommend it highly
