On the outskirts of this, Pwll-y-Wrach Nature Reserve (3 miles) is an incredibly scenic place to walk with an easy route through woodlands and past a waterfall. Another easy-to-approach walk is Llangors Lake (4 miles), where you can follow the circular trail along the water.
