Talworth is a well-received cottage in Brecon, praised for its cleanliness, comfort, and prime location for exploring the Brecon Beacons. Guests appreciate the well-equipped kitchen, cosy wood burner, and comfortable beds. The property is described as charming and welcoming, with thoughtful touches like a welcome pack and local recommendations enhancing the experience.
The cottage is consistently described as very clean, with numerous guests highlighting its immaculate condition. One mention of mould in the shower cubicle suggests a minor issue, but overall, the high standard of cleanliness is evident.
The location is highly praised for its convenience for local walks, proximity to the Brecon Beacons, and a nearby pub. It serves as an excellent base for exploring the area, with guests appreciating the central location and scenic surroundings.
Comfort is a strong point, with guests finding the beds particularly comfortable and the cottage cosy, especially with the wood burner. However, there are a few comments about the lounge furniture needing replacement and the heating being hit & miss, which slightly affects the score.
Facilities are generally well-regarded, with a well-equipped kitchen and ample wood for the burner. Some feedback suggests the need for maintenance, such as treatment for woodlice and updates to the shower cubicle, which slightly lowers the score.
The owner's thoughtfulness is frequently mentioned, with guests appreciating the welcome pack, fresh flowers, and local tips. While these gestures are warmly received, it is noted that such personal touches, though common, are not guaranteed for every stay.

The host was fantastic and checked in with us to make sure everything was ok. Beautiful little cottage with original features. Would highly recommend this property to anyone taking a trip to Bannau Brycheiniog (the Brecon Beacons). The views from Llangynidr mountain are a must..... absolute perfection â¤ï¸

We loved particularly the crooked walls and floor in the main bedroom and the amazing fire place. It was very well equipped with all we could need for cooking a Christmas dinner. Location was perfect. Not too rural but nicely placed for both Brecon and Abergavenny. We had some problems with the heating but were able to manage with the wood burner and didnât find out until afterwards that we could have had the thermostat turned up remotely by the owners. It would be handy for that info to be made available in the excellent cottage info book provided. The only other thing is that the three piece suite needs replacing. The base appears to have failed and having an elderly relative with us she had a distressing incident when first sitting on the sofa and realising that it had no support and she couldnât get up. We all had quite bad backs after sitting for any length of time. Overall, this is a lovely cottage and we would definitely stay again.
