Clyro, a small settlement situated on the Welsh border, and just 1 mile from the popular town of Hay-on-Wye, a vibrant cultural market town famed for the annual book festival. With a castle and small independent cinema, Hay has an excellent selection of quirky shops, cafes, bars, and restaurants along with a weekly farmers market on a Thursdays showcasing the seasonal local produce and crafts. In warmer weather you can enjoy paddling or wild swimming on the banks of the river. Walkers are well served with access onto the Offa’s Dyke footpath, and Wye Valley Walk. For a quieter, easier stroll with spectacular views, The Begwns National Trust commons above Clyro is an excellent choice.
Situated next door to the local service station that’s well stocked with local produce that does not disappoint. Guests have a private access into house via the courtyard gardens, a traditional porchway offers space for coats and boots before you step into the kitchen/diner. Very much the heart of the home with farmhouse style kitchen with a traditional Aga and everything you may need for preparing meals and picnics. And for mealtimes together a generously sized table and chairs. A hallway offers access to a cosy lounge with comfortable seating, a Smart TV and gas effect wood burner. Upstairs guests have the choice of four generously sized bedrooms, one double with garden views, one double enjoying a front aspect and a further double, a generously sized bunk bedroom offers additional flexibility for families. A family bathroom with shower over the bath and WC.
Outside guests can relax within the enclosed courtyard, a sunny spot with table and chairs for dining, for cooler months a garden room that opens onto the courtyard with seating. A utility room offers a washing machine and tumble dryer along with a cloakroom with WC, and storage area for bikes.
