Guests say

Ploony Hill Lodge is highly praised for its cleanliness, secluded and peaceful location, and welcoming atmosphere. Guests consistently commend the well-equipped lodge, the secure garden for pets, and the added luxury of a hot tub. The property's thoughtful touches, such as welcome gifts, contribute to the overall exceptional experience, although these are not guaranteed for every stay.

Reviewers frequently mention the lodge's cleanliness, describing it as 'immaculately kept', 'very clean and tidy', and 'outstandingly clean'. The high standard of cleanliness contributes significantly to guests' comfort and satisfaction.

The lodge's location is repeatedly highlighted as 'secluded', 'peaceful', and 'tranquil', with stunning Welsh countryside views. Its proximity to walking paths and attractions like Hay and Wye, Ludlow, and Elan Valley is appreciated, making it an ideal retreat for nature lovers and those seeking privacy.

Comfort is a strong point, with guests finding the lodge 'very comfortable', enjoying the underfloor heating and the secure garden for pets. However, a few guests suggested improvements in sofa comfort and mattress quality, slightly affecting the score.

Facilities such as the hot tub, pizza oven, and utility room are frequently praised. The lodge is described as well-equipped and having all the necessary amenities for a relaxing stay. Some minor maintenance issues are noted, but overall, the facilities are highly regarded.

The owners' thoughtfulness is evident through mentions of welcome gifts like wine, Welsh cakes, and dog treats. While these gestures are warmly received and enhance the guest experience, it is politely noted that such gifts are not guaranteed for every stay.

Really enjoyed our stay as did our dog with the enclosed area at the lodge, bottle of wine a nice touch, thanks, Screen at side of hot tub if needed but not overlooked so never used it. Two very minor points would recommend some more gravel at front parking area to minimise muddy area, and pull down blind on door would stop dog waking up as soon as sun comes in and make for a cosier feel at night. But I must stess in no way did these affect our stay Local walks in fields for dogs straight from the lodge, walking boots needed, recomend fishpools 2mls away, water breaks it's neck waterfall 6mls and the lake at Llandridod Wells for good walks with paking available at them all.

It truly is a gem. The remoteness and tranquility is perfect for a chilled out break and the countryside walks with the dogs are outstanding. The lodge itself is so cosy and finished to a high spec. The hot tub, pizza oven and utility room are all great additions. I would highly recommend this property.

The lodge is in a really remote location which allows you to feel totally shut off from the world. The hot tub was an amazing way to wind down after a long day of walking. Couldn’t recommend this property more.
