This idyllic barn conversion is the perfect base from which to explore the rolling countryside and charming towns of the Welsh border. With two bedrooms, an enclosed garden, and a wealth of walks and bike rides on your doorstep, this is a fabulous retreat for a party of four and their four-pawed pals.
Located along a leafy lane that offers privacy and tranquillity, this cottage boasts plenty of light and airy living space, with high ceilings, exposed structural beams and a welcoming wood burner. The lounge/dining room features comfortable seating and a TV/DVD, making this room the ideal space to gather around the dining table before stretching out and relaxing in front of the fire. The adjacent kitchen has all the must-haves of home and leads on to a handy boot room with space to settle the dogs. An external door also gives direct access to a furnished patio at the side of the property. Once your day is done, retire to a choice of two peaceful bedrooms; one has a king-size bed and the other has twin beds. Along the corridor is the contemporary bathroom with all the amenities you’ll need for your getaway. Enjoy fresh air, food and drinks on the patio, or let the dogs relax on the front lawn with the security of fencing, walls and gates for that added peace of mind.
The property is set on the edge of Kinnerton; a small village just 6 miles from Chester on the western fringe of the Dee Valley, on the lower slopes of the nearby Clwydian Range. The nearby villages of New and Old Radnor each have welcoming village pubs, while Presteigne (8 miles away) offers a range of shops and restaurants, as well as an interesting town trail. 4.5 miles away is Fishpools in Radnor Forest which is ideal for dog-walking with its stunning views across the Welsh hills. And no holiday here would be complete without a trip to the spectacular Elan Valley with its dams, reservoirs and rugged Welsh landscapes. It is a 25-mile drive away, but well worth the effort. We’d recommend stopping in at Llandidrod Wells along the way; a historic town 17 miles away that thrives with Victorian charm, as well as its fascinating National Cycle Museum.
