Guests have praised the property for its stunning views, comfortable furnishings, and the peacefulness of its location. The enclosed garden is appreciated by pet owners, and the welcome gifts add a personal touch. While most reviews highlight the property's cleanliness and well-equipped nature, a few guests noted areas for improvement, including garden furniture and privacy concerns.
The majority of guests found the property to be spotlessly clean, with only a few isolated incidents of cleanliness issues such as crumbs under the microwave and dog hairs. These seem to be exceptions rather than the rule.
The location is highly praised for its stunning views and tranquillity, with easy access to local walks, beaches, and nearby towns. The property's setting in a residential area is noted, but this does not detract significantly from the overall positive feedback.
Guests have commented on the comfortable beds and cosy atmosphere of the property. Some minor issues were raised regarding fresh air in the double bedroom and parking, but overall, the property is seen as a comfortable retreat.
The property is well-equipped with a few suggestions for additional amenities such as garden furniture and a hair dryer. Maintenance issues like ant holes and lime scale were mentioned, indicating room for improvement in facilities and maintenance.
The provision of welcome gifts such as wine and cake has been well-received, contributing to a warm welcome. However, as gifts are subject to change and not guaranteed, they should be considered a bonus rather than an expectation.
Resting at the southern end of the Snowdonia National Park and ten minutes walk from two miles of sandy beach is this appealing semi-detached bungalow, 48 Glan Y Mor in the village of Fairbourne. Enjoying magnificent views of Cadair Idris and the Rhinogydd mountain ranges and situated at the mouth of the Mawddach estuary with easy access to the famous Mawddach trail (10 miles of traffic free paths with stunning views), 48 Glan Y Mor is a wonderful base for a family of four's coastal getaway. Upon arriving at the property, soak in the sea breeze and your idyllic surroundings, before making your way across the front lawn to the lovely abode. Wander inside to find a charming sitting room, with enough seating for all the family to curl up on as you watch a movie on the TV. Continue to the U-shaped kitchen, where the chef of the group will be pleased to find all the appliances, they need to rustle up tasty meals, including a slimline dishwasher and electric cooker. When dinner is served, progress through the property to the sunny conservatory, where you can savour dinner whilst you admire those beautiful views stretching beyond the back garden. When night falls, choose between two bedrooms to enjoy a well-earned rest in, the first one being a welcoming double, and the other being a twin enjoying built-in storage, both have built-in wardrobes providing ample storage space. In the morning, freshen up for a day out in the bathroom, a spot enjoying nautical touches, that also hosts a bath with shower over and is situated next to a cloakroom with a separate WC. The back garden is a lovely spot, where your furry friend can stretch their legs on the lawn. Fairbourne shops are a short 5 minute walk with four eateries including chip shop and Indian restaurant. There are two grocery shops providing everything you need should you want to cook at home and a launderette. Also in Fairbourne are three pubs, The Penrhyn Bar and Grill, The Glan y Mor Hotel and Fairbourne Golf club. The village also hosts a good selection of attractions, including a sprawling beach where you can beachcombe and surf to your heart's content, a beachside golf course and a miniature railway which runs for two miles from the village to the end of the sand spit. If you are a cyclist or walker you will love the Mawddach Trail which is a stunning multi-use path following the old disused railway line along the edge of the beautiful Mawddach estuary in Southern Snowdonia. The almost exclusively traffic–free route, which is owned by the Snowdonia National Park, is clearly marked, and can be easily followed. It is essentially flat, has a fairly even surface and for most of its length is at least 3 metres wide, and as such it is suitable for walkers, cyclists and wheelchair users. The Mawddach trail has featured in several TV documentaries most notably the Dollgelau to Barmouth Railway Walk with Julia Brabury. A must for the more adventurous cyclist is the UK’s first specialist mountain biking centre, Coed y Brenin (17 miles from Fairbourne). Purpose built, all-weather single-track routes with names like The Cavity and Falseteeth will get experienced riders’ pulses pounding, while there are gentler options for younger and more casual cyclists. Work on your technique at the Y Ffowndri Skills Area & Bike Park, relax and refresh at the visitor centre café and browse Beics Brenin, stocked with cycling equipment and bikes for hire. There are numerous ways to get to the seaside town of Barmouth, from catching a ferry to crossing Barmouth Bridge or catching the train from Fairbourne; once you have arrived at the town, be sure to climb to Dinas Oleu via the Panorama Walk, where you can soak in beautiful views of the town, before heading back down to bask in the sun on the beach, and stopping in one of many independent shops and eateries. There is so much more to see in the surrounding area, with the rocky peak of Penygader nearby, the fascinating Mach Loop, where you can spot jet aircrafts being trained, and the Cregennan Lakes, where the fishing fans of the group can angle away. Dolgellau and Aberdovey aren't far and also make for fabulous outings with plenty to do; additionally, the heart of Snowdonia National Park is just moments away and beholds a wealth of activities for the outdoors fans of the group. For a beachfront stay to remember, look no further than 48 Glan Y Mor.
The coastal village of Fairbourne rests on Gwynedd's western shores. Providing guests with a well-stocked convenience store and friendly pub, whilst also backing onto a lengthy beach and golf club, Fairbourne is a fantastic stay for a break in this beautiful part of Wales. The kitchen was well stocked with utensils. The beds were super comfy. There was a folder with easy to follow instructions for using all gadgets. The garden was totally enclosed as stated. There was a lovely welcome basket, too. Thank you for a thoroughly enjoyable stay.

Had everything that we needed, brilliant views from the conservatory and back garden all the way over to Barmouth. Nice and peaceful, It was the perfect base for exploring Fairbourne and beyond. Some great walks and the Fairbourne steam railway. Sadly it was really let down by the overall cleanliness, which was poor, the whole place was in need of a decent clean.
Katy
Unfortunately on arrival we noticed a dirty porch floor and the carpet didnât look as though it had been vacuumed prior to our arrival. That said, we had a lovely comfortable stay and will hopefully return again next year.
