Can Yr Afon is a charming, quirky lodge with a stunning garden and river, offering a unique and cosy experience. Guests appreciate its magical setting, rustic character, and the warmth and hot water comfort it provides. The location is ideal for village access and scenic walks, with many finding it a special place they'd love to return to.
The lodge is generally well-received for cleanliness, with mentions of it being 'beautifully clean' and in good order. However, some guests suggested a deep clean and maintenance in the kitchen, indicating room for improvement.
The location is highly praised for its beauty and convenience, with guests loving the proximity to local walks, the village, and the enchanting garden with a river, making it an ideal retreat.
Comfort is noted positively with the lodge being described as cosy, warm, and having comfortable bedding. Some guests, however, felt that the settees could be more comfortable and the cottage's layout may not suit everyone.
Facilities are appreciated for their rustic charm and the presence of multiple showers and toilets. Nonetheless, there are several mentions of the need for repairs and upgrades, particularly in the kitchen and bathroom areas.
While guests have mentioned the lack of a welcome pack and some essentials, there is not enough information to assess the overall thoughtfulness of the hosts. As such, it's important to note that while gifts and welcome packs can enhance the experience, they are not guaranteed.

The gardens are beautiful, with the view across the river. The area of beddgelert is lovely, and beyond to North Wales. So the home is perfectly positioned for plenty of sightseeing. I really hope to return in the summer months to make use of that fabulous garden. Thank you.

The garden and river are of course both spectacular but we also loved the quirky nature of the house, all the paintings everywhere and the secluded nature of the place. It is wonderfully situated for walking straight from the house and also for proximity to village shops and pubs. It was thoughtfully stocked with everything we could have possibly needed. We would certainly love to return one day. Thank you very much to the owners.
