The Cottage on the Green is a traditional Grade 2 dwelling tucked away, but still in the heart of Beddgelert, within the Eryri National Park, also known as Snowdonia.
Beddgelert itself is a charming village. Its stone buildings nestled in the surrounding mountains with two rivers converging make it one of the most picturesque villages in North Wales.
Boasting stunning views of Moel Hebog, Beddgelert’s own mountain, the Snowdon horseshoe, and the rivers’ confluence, this delightful home is perfect for couples or families, with a well-stocked shop and village pubs nearby.
Inside you’ll be welcomed by the warmth of the toasty woodburning stove, creating the perfect backdrop for a quiet night in.
Moving through the property you will discover a well-equipped kitchen/diner, ideal for preparing home-cooked meals to be enjoyed at the dining table with the family, overlooking the pretty garden.

Outside, the pretty rear garden features a slate patio providing a sunny spot to enjoy a morning coffee, while taking in views of the surrounding hills. The higher patio area with table and chairs is the place to enjoy an evening drink or dinner al fresco catching the last rays of sun before it sets behind the mountains to the west.
You only have to walk a few steps from the Cottage to immerse yourself in the rich history and local lore with a visit to Gelert’s grave, from which the village is named, to learn the legend of Prince Llewellyn and his dog. Walk along the River Colwyn, the second of Beddgelert’s rivers, to the Sygun Copper Mine and explore Eryri’s flora and fauna at the National Trust Craflwyn Nature Reserve. Beddgelert’s own forest offers both vigorous and gentle walks and bike rides along its beautiful and varied trails. Hire a bike for added fun.
Adventurous souls can walk from the Cottage further along the River Glaslyn, with its occasional rock grab handles, into the Aberglaslyn Pass with its breathtaking vistas.
Wales is famous for its steam railways. The Welsh Highland Railway stops at Beddgelert station on its way from Caernarfon to Porthmadog. Travel in leisurely style through the magnificent scenery to explore the charming town of Porthmadog or Caernarfon with its fine castle.

exhilarating Crib Goch ridge walk. Alternatively, there are equally spectacular, but quieter peaks such as Cnicht or Beddgelert’s own Moel Hebog.
For those seeking an adrenaline rush, the Llechwed slate caverns offer thrilling zip-line experiences. Velocity Zip World at Bethesda is the longest and fastest in the world. The adventures of Bounce Below and Crazy Golf in the Llechwed Caverns and the high ropes and gentler zip-lines near Betws y Coed offer adventures suitable for families.
