About this property

Nestled in a National Park in the old town of Blaenau Ffestiniog, is this stylish mid terrace, TurTwig Cottage. Enjoying a toasty woodburning stove and just paces away from amenities to assist with your self-catered stay, this two-bedroom home is ideal for a family of four. Leave your vehicle on the roadside before stepping inside to discover the industrial style living/dining room, where you can curl up with a cup of tea besides the woodburning stove. Tuck-into heart-warming meals at the dining table, which can be prepared in the kitchen adjacent, courtesy of the gas oven and hob, before enjoying a friendly competitive game of air hockey. When the sun is shining, carry the conversation out on to rear courtyard and why not savour a glass of wine to celebrate your hideaway? As the evening cools, retire inside and enjoy a hot shower on either the ground floor or first floor, where a heated rail will keep your towel fluffy and warm. When sleep calls, choose between two beautifully presented doubles, both with hanging rails and bedside lamps so you can enjoy some bedtime reading. Awaken with a cup of coffee on the front patio to absorb the setting, with views of a spectacular mountain and enjoy a home-cooked breakfast at the dining table. TurTwig Cottage is an excellent base for the adventurers at heart, with the thrilling Zip World Llechwedd, the cascading Cwmorthin Waterfall and Ceunant Llennyrch National Nature Reserve for a ramble. History buffs may wish to visit the harbour town of Porthmadog; here you can unveil the past at Maritime Museum, hop aboard a steam train for a trip through the mountains or if that's not for you, sample the quaint cafes and boutique stores. For a special escape, spend the afternoon in the village of Betws-y-Coed, home to a plethora of walks, where you can explore Swallow Falls or delve into deep forests for wonderful wildlife. Whisk your loves ones to TurTwig Cottage for a memorable getaway.

. It's a perfect location as it is in the centre of the village and there are local Coop and Morrisons stores within walking distance and on pretty level ground for anyone like me with walking difficulties.. The cottage has every thing needed in the kitchen and a downstairs shower room.. It's ideal for long walks for the more able bodied visitors. My son had the dog out most days. We will be back again next year.

We really enjoyed our time here. They only problems we had was with the television keep jumping making it difficult to watch, and the towels were a bit small. The microwave is to high on the wall. I am not very tall and for me it was quite difficult to get hot food out without spilling. These are only small things which would not stop us coming back again for another holiday.

Well equipped kitchen but major things let it down and impacted our stay. 1. The lighting in the bathroom very poor the lights over the mirror didn’t work and struggled to get contact lenses in. 2. Second bedroom needs a mirror, had to share main room for doing hair. 3. The logs left for the fire were damp and did not work well, and I had purchased the kindle. 4. The internet was dreadful, unable to stream anything and the tv signal was rubbish. We had taken games and books but also wanted to chill infront of the fire on cold rainy evenings together to watch a box set after being in the rain and outside during the day. For this reason we wouldn’t stay here again. Such a shame as everything else was great, but we wanted some down time and we couldn’t get it to work at all.
