Hendy Cottage in Llanbedr is highly praised for its mix of original charm and modern amenities, offering stunning views and a comfortable, homely atmosphere. Guests appreciate the warm welcome from the owners and the friendly farm dogs, Tom and Alfie. The property serves as an excellent base for exploring North Wales & Snowdonia, with many guests returning and planning future visits.
The cottage is consistently described as clean and well-maintained, with only one mention of finding old socks, which seems to be an isolated incident.
The location is frequently highlighted for its perfect setting, beautiful views, and proximity to local attractions and Snowdonia National Park.
Guests find the beds very comfortable and the cottage cosy, though there is a single mention of the lounge being a bit cold and draughty.
Facilities are generally well-regarded, with the cottage being well-equipped. However, some guests noted the rough access track and the lack of Wi-Fi as areas for improvement.
The warm welcomes, including Welsh cakes and the friendly reception from the owners and their dogs, are appreciated. While these gestures are cherished, they are not guaranteed for every stay.
Llanbedr 1 mile. A beautifully renovated 18th century Victorian detached, double-fronted farm cottage located on the owners 200-acre Welsh working farm, sitting in a slightly elevated position, one mile from the village of Llanbedr. Situated with its own private seating area with the owner's property 30 metres behind, this cottage is nestled between the dramatic backdrop of the Rhinog Mountain range and the wonderful views of the sands of Shell Island, Artro Estuary and Bardsey Island and out across Cardigan Bay. This cottage is an ideal base for exploring this beautiful coastline of North Wales and the Snowdonia National Park and is perfect for couples, friends and families who enjoy holidaying together. On your arrival dont be at all surprised if youre met by the owners gorgeous dogs, Alfie and Del who are a real hit with the kids. This delightful cottage, lovingly renovated and restored offers an extremely warm Welsh welcome. The charm and character is in abundance, with ledge and brace doors with wrought iron furniture, exposed beams, stone and slate-flagged flooring and a central oak panelled staircase as you enter the property. The sitting room has plenty of comfortable seating and boasts an impressive inglenook fireplace with gas woodburning-effect stove. The well-proportioned dining room is a lovely place to sit as a family and enjoy a late supper or a more leisurely breakfast before setting out on a days adventure. The dairy towards the rear of the property has been converted into a well-equipped kitchen with the original slate floor, and the utility room still has the original slate worktop where the milk would have been kept cool all those years ago! There is more oak panelling upstairs together with three wonderful bedrooms; all have wonderfully deep window sills offering seating where you can sit and drink in those wonderful views, be inspired or finish that book you started. The main bedroom benefits from having a double bed and it also boasts the original bedroom fireplace and high ceilings with beams. The family bathroom has the added luxury of a roll-top bath and a separate shower which completes this wonderful cottage. Outside there is a raised seating area with table and chairs, perfect for alfresco dining or if you simply want to sit and enjoy the wonderful panoramic views with a glass of something cold. The pretty little village of Llanbedr is a mile down the road where there are two pubs, a village shop and local butchers shop. There are some amazing walks from the door and Cwm Nantcol, Cwm Bychan and the Roman Steps are all close by. The beaches along this stretch of the North Wales coastline are beautiful with miles and miles of sandy shores and there are many cycling trails (cycle hire is available in the village) to enjoy. There is so much to see and do here and something for all the family. This location is great and everything is within easy reach and the area also boasts good golf courses, medieval castles such as Harlech Castle just three miles away and the Snowdonia National Park. This cottage is an ideal base at any time of the year and you will want to return time and time again.

There was not. Also your e mail stated before we went that we needed to take sheets and towels, no we did not. Before we left found and old pair of rolled up dirty socks in the single bedroom. The lighting very poor in living room found it very dark. Dining room smelt very fusty.
