Set in 5 acres of beautiful, shared gardens amongst the stunning rural Welsh scenery of rolling hillsides and wild woodland, this characterful retreat occupying part of a rustic 17th-century property is the perfect getaway for families and couples who love nothing more than walking, cycling and climbing the great outdoors.
Reminiscent of a rustic farmhouse, the spacious kitchen/diner not only provides everything you need to get creative with your new local flavours but perfectly sympathises with the rich heritage and history of this period cottage; exposed ceiling beams and period décor will transport you to centuries past. The roaring wood burner and sumptuous soft furnishings in the cosy lounge set the scene for ultimate relaxation at the end of a long day on the trails. Upstairs, you'll find two charming bedrooms, one double and one twin, that feature crisp, white linens and wonderfully green views to wake up to. From sunrise to sunset, the surrounding 5 acres of shared grounds offer a true escape from reality; dine alfresco on the paved terrace before discovering the woodland and extensive lawns with opportunities to play table tennis, badminton and football.
This peaceful, secluded spot deep in the wild Welsh countryside is perfect for lovers of the great outdoors; Snowdonia National Park can be reached within 8.5 miles, boasting a myriad of outdoor sports including mountain biking, hiking and mountaineering. Venture to the vibrant market town of Machynlleth just under 8 miles away, home to the oldest street market in Britain, which you can explore every Wednesday, and plenty of quirky shops, restaurants and cafés, plus MOMA Wales (8 miles), a must-see for art lovers. Passing through Machynlleth, join the Dyfi Valley Way footpath, following the River Dyfi from the estuary in Aberdyfi to the source at the summit of Aran Fawddwy.
