Dinas Mawddwy is ideally placed for discovering the stunning mountains of Mid Wales; the whole area is criss-crossed with well-marked footpaths that open up the myriad of outdoor activities that the Snowdonia National Park has to offer. The village has a pub so after a day exploring you don’t even have to worry about cooking. Cader Idris, Mount Snowdon’s lesser-known counterpart, is 10 miles away, and nearby Dolgellau offers a good range of shops for a more relaxing day, plus the sandy beaches at Barmouth and Fairbourne are just short drives away. Dinas Mawddwy is an attractive, single-street village surrounded by beautiful countryside and overlooked by the wonderful Aran Mountains, in the southern part of Snowdonia National Park. There is a pub in the village and a number of others close by and the Meirion Woollen Mill stands on the banks of the River Dovey and is open to visitors.
