The focal point of the town is undoubtedly the famed Bideford Long Bridge, believed to be originally built from timber in the 13th Century. It was rebuilt in stone in the 14th Century and remained the main route to Cornwall until a new bridge was built further up the river. Outside of town, explore the Tarka Trail, or venture slightly further afield to the beautiful Exmoor National Park.
