What our customers say about their holidays

We stayed at 8 Lune Street in May this year.
We found the description to be fairly accurate but the description of the garden wasn't quite correct. We stayed with my dog and were hoping for a safe and enclosed garden space attached to the cottage but this so. The garden is separate and not secure although it is a nice space the dog couldn't be off the lead around the house. There is however a bridleway very close at the end of the layby in front of the cottage. The cottage itself was lovely, the fire fabulous and warm, and the cottage clean and comfortable. There is a supplier of logs just up the road from the cottage too to restock the fire. The road outside can be noisy at peak times but with windows closed it wasn't too bad. We feel the tv could maybe be more beneficial being connected to the internet as it is just basic channels. We got around this using a laptop and HTMI lead connected to the wifi which had a good signal. This worked fine to watch internet tv. There is a resident pussy cat 2 doors down so if anyone has a dogs particularly adverse to cats please be aware. Overall, we had a fabulous stay at this cottage and wouldn't hesitate to rebook. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a cottage close to lovely walks but still within easy reach of the cities etc. Many thanks to the owner of this cottage for a great stay.

The best renovated and equipped cottage weâve stayed in.
Absolutely nothing to criticise. Immaculately clean and ready when we arrived ( early). We met the owners who were lovely. We mentioned there wasnât a garlic press in the kitchen. Iâll bet there will be one very soon. So obliging. Will say itâs not totally dog safe although we cordoned a bit of the back yard off with some chairs. Maybe if some mesh was put on the double gates it would be better for dog owners. Our dog liked sitting at the front gate watching ( woofing) the world go by. If you want a drink the Snooty Fox is only a few yards away. Nice friendly people. Clean. Dog friendly good selection of reasonably priced drinks. We only went in âearly doorsâ but understand they do have live music. Plenty of local walks and public footpaths. When we go back to Howarth or that area we wouldnât look anywhere else. Quick easy drive to Keighley if you want a supermarket. Coop down the road. Oakworth Station close by for Worth Valley Railway. Plenty of buses close by. Short journey to Howarth and itâs lovely shops, bars and eateries

Delightful and quaint house.
Renovated to a very high standard but the owners have maintained the character and charm of the property. Very comfortable and homely. Kitchen really well equipped. The hosts live next door and are lovely people, they recommended a number plates to visit .The welcome gifts were much appreciated as were the fresh flowers. We were also treated to some home grown Rhubarb and Bramley apples, which were delicious. It's an ideal location as there's lots to do within easy reach of Oakworth. The Keighley and Worth Valley railway, Haworth, Saltaire, Salts Mill shopping centre is worth a visit with it's bespoke shops and galleries, Shipton Castle and town, Embsay and Bolton railway, Shibden Hall, National Trust East Riddlesden Hall and lots of lovely walks. Thank you Pete and Anne for making our stay so comfortable and thank you for your help when Tim hurt his leg, just sorry we had to leave a day early. Would highly recommend 2 James Street. Best wishes Tim and Mandy

Lovely little cottage but not Spotless as claimed â¦let down by whoever maintains/cleans Lovely little cottage but a little tired, we arrived in March for a 12 night break.
Cottage was freezing when we arrived so could have been timed to come on for before we arrived. It was not spotless as claimed; it smelt musty, cobwebs on ceiling and in windows. In under bed in second bedroom was an old chocolate and bits that had not been vacuumed the cupboards in that room also had hardbacks / woodlice in the bottom of it. The cooker lid was covered in grease as was one of the dishes in the oven. There was no instructions on how to use the heating thermostat. The bathroom could have been cleaner the two cups in the bathroom hadn't been cleaned. The fridge was clean but smelled of sour milk. Other than that the sheets and towels were clean, beds comfortable . Ideal spot for walkers and visiting lovely villages, buses very regular if you don't want to drive.

Absolutely beautiful cottage with gorgeous views.
Fabulous decor and well equipped kitchen with plenty of crockery and cutlery. The bed on the second floor was really comfortable. Beware though as the stairs up to the second floor are really steep. Just one disappointment, we booked thinking it was an enclosed garden, the garden isnât enclosed so we were unable to let the dog out without a lead, there is a shared access alleyway between the row of cottages and their gardens which leads on to the road, this should be made clear in the cottage description on the website. Having said this we would stay again if we werenât taking the dog. The Prosecco and biscuits were a nice touch and Natalie was really helpful with info about the parking when we arrived.
