Nestled on a sheltered stretch of the Scottish coast, Dornoch has pleasant and sunny weather; something which may come as a surprise given the reputation of the rest of the Highlands. This, among other things, makes it a lovely town in which to spend a cottage holiday.
If golden beaches are a must for your holiday destination, Dornoch won’t disappoint. You’ll find a long stretch of golden sand well suited for sandcastles, a picturesque walk or if you're brave, a quick swim. Keep your eyes peeled for the wealth of wildlife that also lives here; from seals to birds. Back in the town, don’t miss a visit to the Cathedral. It is a notable feature of the town and has some impressive stained glass windows.
