What our customers say about their holidays

We had an absolutely amazing stay.
We found the cottage to be delightful with everything we needed and very dog friendly. Throughout our stay we visited Bamburgh, Alnwick, Holy Island, Seahouses and had wonderful walks with the dogs in the fresh air. This was just what we needed to get away from our stressful jobs. Although the cottage is very dog friendly we found the adjoing neighbour not to be. We arrived late in the evening around 8pm and the dogs where excited when we got there after a 5 hour drive (as you can imagine they were excited) our dogs are well-behaved but because excited they did bark a little when exploring their new home and to our amazement the neighbour banged on the walls and put very loud music on. Although we are sorry for the dogs barking, all dogs bark to some extent, unfortunately this put me on edge for the rest of our stay in case they did bark again. Also please accept our apologises but we forgot to empty the fridge, we remembered half way home, so sorry. On the whole though we had a lovely stay.

Lovely stay but we had a few issues.
We have a 4yr old who often wakes in the night and will come to our room, which was anxiety provoking in this cottage due to the stairs (master bedroom comes directly off staircase - hard to describe). Reading people had fallen down the stairs didnât help. I think this should have been mentioned in the description. Fixing a stair gate was difficult and only possible below the problem steps. Weâve never stayed at a cottage before that didnât provide basics such as sugar, salt and pepper, cooking oil or a welcome pack. There was an opened, unsealed milk left in the fridge which we didnât use as wasnât sure if this was left for us or not. We were cold. The heating system was set to a max of 15 meaning we constantly had to turn the temperature up and boost the radiators. Being left only 2 firelighters seemed stingy. If a guest had 2 vehicles you would struggle to park as there is no roadside parking. We didnât find the train an issue and soon got use to the noise and vibrations.

The positives are that the property is well located as it is a short drive to local beaches.
The beds are comfortable and towels are provided. There is a nice view over farmland and parking is close and easy. The kitchen is well equipped and there is both a dishwasher and washing machine. We were concerned about the cleanliness. After 5 minutes in the property we were all covered in dog hair. There were large clumps on the carpets which hadn't been vacuumed. I cleaned this myself and filled the vacuum with dog hair. The attachment to the shower was also missing which made it difficult to shower young children and also clean the shower after use. There was a bit of a smell which we noticed on entering the property but not sure what was causing it. Make sure you bring basic supplies such as hand wash, toilet roll and salt. A few dish washer tablets were left which was thoughtful and they also left tea towels. The guest book had lots of useful information.

Dunrovin is a lovely little cottage just a few miles from Seahouses.
We had an amazing time here. It was so relaxing and peaceful. The terrace was perfect for the dogs and because there is wire between each bar on the fence, we felt confident they couldn't get into the field. The cottage was clean, and very comfortable. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and would have no hesitation in returning. We visited Berwick, Bamburgh, Seahouses, Wooler, Morpeth, and Lindisfarne. All lovely in their own way. In the cottage my only suggestion would be could you put a baking tray or or pizza tray in the cupboard? We couldn't find anything big enough to cook pizza on. Otherwise it was an amazing cottage, in a beautiful and perfect location, with easy access to all the attractions, enabling us to have an incredible holiday. Thankyou

Cosy.. clean
....outside areas need urgent attention. shrubs block front entrance we got soaked trying to get in and out back patio although rural needs an overall.bathroom is rather cold towel rail too small and water not hot enough for a good shower okay on warmer weather I'm sure overall clean and cosy bed comfy In comparison to the other let's Dubrovin on the outside looks rather scruffy again due to some outside attention Curtain linings work a treat in the front bedroom but from outside they look a bit of a mess hanging down My comments are not detrimental in any way but constructive as it is a nice cottage
