  The rear of the property faces east and as such gets very little sunlight making the lounge dark and cold in the late morning and afternoon.

  The garden of the property to the right as you look down the garden is very overgrown and the ivy is now encroaching onto this property and round the bedroom window. The trees at the rear are very tall and thus block out the sunlight. The garden has not been maintained and the grass was very long. In our opinion the garden was not fit for purpose and certainly not somewhere where you would want to sit. There were a couple of issues regarding the kitchen. No kitchen scissors or tongs and no tin foil or cling film (minor items we appreciate but would have been nice to have). The dishwasher needed salt and rinse aid and was therefore not cleaning the pots. The rubber seal on the oven door was broken. When we came to use the hoover it left a horrible smell and presumably needed the bag emptying but we couldn't find any spare bags. Whilst we accept these are issues that might not bother other people they are things that we have not encountered before. Sadly we would not return. On a positive note Warkworth is a beautiful village and both the Masons Arms and Bertrams are definitely well worth a visit for good food. The walk along the riverbank and to the beach made this holiday.

  My wife and I enjoyed an excellent week’s stay at Hotspur Cottage at the beginning of June. The pre-arrival packs and communication from the team at Coquet Cottages were outstanding and gave us everything we needed to prepare for our holiday. And we arrived at the cottage to find it absolutely perfect for our requirements, including a lovely welcome hamper, full of local treats. Hotspur Cottage is perfectly located in the centre of Warkworth, with plenty of free parking in the main square. The cottage was immaculately clean and had everything that we needed to make our stay enjoyable and stress-free. It is a perfect small bolthole for discovering Northumberland, with all of the main sites and attractions easily within reach. We walked every day; used the very frequent bus service regularly; and drove to further afield destinations like Bamburgh and Hadrian’s Wall. We will definitely use Coquet Cottages again!

  We’ve had a brilliant week here at Hotspur Cottage – made by the wonderful weather and the stunning scenery here in Northumberland. Plenty of walks all around, including Hardrian’s Wall at Hexham, Holy Island and all around Bamburgh. Fabulous castles up and down the coast but the best is here in Warkworth, especially with the free audio tour. The cottage is perfect and well done to Coquet Cottages for the brilliant service – nothing is too much trouble and the after-sales service is fab!! We used the X18 & X20 buses often as it saved driving. Our favourite restaurant was The Fish Shack in Amble – super fresh seafood in a gorgeous location. Thank you!

  This is our seventh booking through Coquet Cottages and, as ever, the welcome pack and other touches were well received.  We love Northumberland, and Warkworth in particular, as well as the surrounding area, including seeing ‘The Toon’ win at St James’ Park.  Warkworth beach is our favourite walk but Bamburgh beach is well worth a visit.  Have a mouch in Alnwick and visit the Castle and Garden.  Recommended foodie places are Bertram’s in Warkworth for breakfast, Cabosse in Warkworth for hot chocolate!! Jaspers in Amble for dinner (Amble is a lovely port). Looking forward to our next trip in the Spring.

  Castle View is a superb place to stay with breathtaking views of Warkworth Castle.

  The village centre is only a few minutes walk away, or you can have a wander to the beach or Amble, which are both only a mile away. The property was extremely clean, comfortable, spacious and homely. We couldn’t have asked for more. Both front and rear gardens were safe and secure for our Labrador. Our welcome pack, along with Henry’s treats, were gratefully received. We were lucky enough to meet the owners on our departure and were able to pass on our thanks personally. We really can’t speak highly enough of Castle View. We will definitely be back. Thank you
