What our customers say about their holidays

On first arrival we found the property pleasant.
Instructions left were great! and the board games were a great addition! The property heated fast and the water was constantly hot we found that all rooms were ample size for a family of four and a dog. The kitchen is big enough for 2 of you to operate in there. Dishwasher, washing machine and showers were great, the only issue in the shower with the bath is if you are 5ft 10 plus you may struggle with the large shower head due to height restriction. The property is in a great location in terms of shops, petrol stations etc. Also travelling to places like wells by the sea and cromer were within a 30 to 40 min drive which was great! The downside to the property was on first arrival and leaving was the parking to unload and load, you have to the option of parking on the road however this is a busy road where cars come past pretty fast as do lorries, so not the safest place to be able to do this. Lots of plus points to this property to be honest also found it be modern inside. The cons to the property was that it was only surface clean which is a real shame, when attempting to use the beko hoover it had no suction and would run out of battery in about 60 seconds so we used the broom but could not find a dustpan? The mattresses in both rooms were terrible way too soft and I have a bruise on my hip where a spring had dug into my leg not great for sleeping over the 3 nights as well as being next to a busy road not a great combination. The main bin was full so when attempting to put our rubbish in the this was difficult as well as extremely smelly. Also no clothes line to hang out clothes? The main light in the main bedroom also flickers like crazy. If you could sort all the above cons out above you would have a near perfect property to stay In, I feel with the main road the property owner would benefit from having better quality windows to have a lesser nosie. The stay overall was pleasant and found that Norfolk was a fantastic part of England.

The Barn itself had everything you could need, the shower was powerful, the mirror in the bathroom the girls loved, towels were nice and fluffy and dried you beautifully.
Main bedroom, the bed is firm, husband found it comfortable and slept well, the lampshades had cobwebs on them and generally dusty, the twin room was a bit tight for space but the girls ( X2 16 year olds) managed and slept well. Kitchen had a dish washer big enough to cope with a family of 4, we did do a Sunday roast, tall fridge freezer, not much in the way for cupboard space. Internet is slow, was unable to watch Netflix without it being pixelated or reloading, tried to do some uni work but internet pages were slow to load up, gave up. Games room would be better if there were more usable cues, there were many without tips, there were only 2, I would say, that were of any good, when you've got a snooker table and 2 pool tables- definitely not enough to go round. The swimming pool is technically heated as can feel warmth coming through the pump but definitely not warm/up to temperature, needed to get acclimatised to the water temperature before being able to swim, a family had used the pool the day before and had left a window open, which resulted in loads of flies/bugs being in the pool, spent about 20 mins trying to get them into the filter, no equipment to be able to skim the water to remove them, got out in the end as couldn't swim in it without being surrounded. Also no shower area near the pool, have to go through the barn to get showered. Whilst there we had an electricity cut- not isolated to the barns (covered 6 postcodes, quite a large area affected) but we had to contact the 'maintenance team' who let us know what was going on and sent us a link to follow the engineers repairs. However, no contact from the owner all. Not sure if I would recommend to others given the cleanliness and lack of maintenance, we probably won't return either but we enjoyed our week away.

We really enjoyed our stay at Springfield, which is a lovely and well presented property.
We were also happy with the service provided by Skyes. There are three minor points that would have enhanced our experience of the property: - on the issue with a smell of smoke (which the owners and Sykes addressed very promptly when we raised it), even having taken the steps suggested by the owner with the scent infusers, we remain of the view that there had been smoking in our near the property before our arrival. After our exchange with Skylea we spotted some cigarette stubs on the footstep immediately outside the gate, so perhaps there had been people smoking there with the door open. The smell was most noticeable in the hallway and dining room, which would make sense if people had been smoking outside very close to the front door. Signage or some means of reminding guests and cleaning staff that the property being non-smoking extends to precluding smoking near the property might be worth considering. - the kitchen sink was quite slow to drain. Not a major problem but came to be a little irritating when cleaning the kitchen as it delayed the process to have to wait for the sink to drain. - the master bedroom is beautiful and very calming, and we were really pleased that the noise from the road didnât disturb us (or the kids in their room). One small point, perhaps personal preference, is that we found the mattress in the master bedroom quite uncomfortable - it was on the soft side so when two people are in the bed it was hard for both to be comfortable. Less of an issue when it was each of our turn for a lie in when the other got up early with the kids! All in all a really lovely stay. Thank you.

We decided to get away for Christmas this year and this barn seemed absolutely perfect.
However there were a few things that we were quite disappointed with. The games room: incredibly dusty and not kept clean, there were no decent snooker cues all had bad tips or no tips, the felt on the snooker table was also split in places and covered in dust and debris it is also very poorly lit. One pool table also has balls missing. There were balls and bats for the table tennis however one table was damaged across one corner and not usable. The pool is absolutely freezing, there are no toilets in the area so you have to go back to house for a toilet. There are three changing areas in the pool area (shower curtains attached to the wall) no showers in pool area. Lots of pool accessories such as a football goal, balls, arm bands and floats, however none in tact and need replacing which was disappointing as we had a small child with us and were looking forward to spending lots of time in the pool. The house is beautiful with great views, comfy beds and a well equipped kitchen (utensils, pots and pans. However it really lacks some TLC and needs a serious deep clean there is a lot of dust and so much of it under the sofas and beds (we had a few toys roll under the sofa and bed hence how we noticed). There were no extra bin bags, washing up liquid had not been refilled, and there was only one toilet roll provided for our 5 day stay there were also no hand towels provided in the kitchen. Overall we made the most of what we had with what was available. We believe that with some extra attention paid to the upkeep and cleanliness it could be a place we would return.

The house itself was lovely.
It was nice to have a fire and a bath - which was huge! Bedrooms were big and bright and airy, beds very comfy, as were the settees in the lounge. The garden would be lovely in the summer as it's west facing, and would be lovely to sit out in an evening. Couple of things mention on the downside are the road noise at the front of the house, the windows needed cleaning, and I wasn't sure of the cleanliness of the floors downstairs, as I had to clean a couple of food spills up in the kitchen and lounge. All in all though, we enjoyed our stay, so many things to see and do, and lovely to be able to walk into Fakenham for shopping or a coffee, and the Thursday Market was good too. Loved the history around the area, shame the Gas museum was closed because of Covid tho.
