Dog Friendly Kenwick Holiday Cottages

Nestled on the edge of the beautiful Lincolnshire Wolds, Kenwick is perfectly situated between Louth and an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Not to be missed, Louth is a 'foodie mecca' according to the Hairy Bikers. A perfect dog-friendly retreat, with numerous walks to undertake nearby, Kenwick is a great base to explore the surrounding countryside where gently rolling hills meet hidden valleys, with grasslands and woodlands teeming with wildlife.

At Dog Friendly Cottages, we specialise in dog-friendly cottages in Kenwick and across the UK. Go for a beautiful barn conversion, with a spacious modern interior for the whole family or opt for a romantic cottage for two with a hot tub.

Kenwick's access to plenty of sprawling walks is right on your doorstep. We recommend the circular walk from Ludford, starting in the quaint village and taking in the Viking Way. There's plenty of eclectic history to explore, too. The Greyhound Inn prides itself on a warm welcome to any visiting pups. If meandering through the gentle countryside, admiring rare wildflowers and appreciating trickling streams and luscious green slopes is your idea of dog-friendly holiday heaven, then Kenwick should be high on your list to book.

What our customers say about their holidays

We are a group of 4 adults and 2 children.

We stayed for 3 nights at leafy hollow lodge and we were all blown away by how lovely it was. We were welcomed by a glowing light that had been left on for us, a beautiful decorative leaf wreath on the front door and as we opened the door a subtle woody cinnamon scent. The lodge is spacious and beautifully decorated with a tasteful woodland Norwegian style, from woodland green soft fleece sofa blankets to woodland creature ornaments and mini felt gonks displayed with fairy lights which my daughter loved. Waiting for us was a welcome basket of Prosecco a Victorian sponge and some luxury crisps with a welcome card, a very nice touch. The two shower rooms / toilet areas were spotlessly clean and fresh. I slept in the main double room and myself and my husband agreed the bed was like sleeping in a cloud, very comfortable. Due to the mixed weather on our visit we all appreciated the log burning fire to create a cosy warm atmosphere and the bigger than usual selection of dvds and jigsaws/ games for kids & adults. Contact with the owners Sarah & Jason was reassuringly easy, they were very quick to respond and very helpful with anything we needed or any questions. As the lodge is located in a wood the WiFi is quite weak so plan ahead for day trips / places to eat etc before you go if you like to internet search. There is a detailed welcome pack & selection of leaflets in the lodge for local things to do places to visit & eat out etc. We found leafy hollow lodge the ideal hideaway from everyday life & stress and we actually enjoyed disconnecting from phones and spending more time together socialising in a very Hygge environment. We visited The Cheese Shop in Louth, worth a visit, the Brown Cow pub in Louth for a Sunday roast which was delicious and we took the children to the Wildlife centre / zoo which we all enjoyed. Many thanks Sarah & Jason for a perfect luxury lodge in the woods holiday.

First time exploring Lincolnshire and the lodge was an excellent base.

Spacious and comfortable with the all the kitchen supplies required for self catering and a nice welcome pack from the owner. Although the site is pretty sizeable, the way the lodges are situated gives a feeling of peaceful seclusion, especially with this lodge being on the end of a row of five/six lodges. Nice wrap around deck to catch both morning and evening sun. As an avid cook, the only disappointment was the site's strict rule on no BBQs especially given the excellent weather we had, but understandable given the ancient woodland. I'm not one for visiting the same place twice as there's so much of the country to explore but I wouldn't hesitate to book this lodge again. The nearby town of Louth was a little gem. Great communication from the owner. Although we did not have the need to contact her that much, I got the impression she would be very helpful if required. All round excellent spot!

The great escape is just that!

! the wonderful setting on the edge of Kenwick Park, the ability to walk straight into the woods, this cabin is a slice away! Do note if you have youngster who require to be online all the time with lightening speed - this is not the place for you. But we wanted to be semi-offline (there is Wi-Fi but it’s temperamental and reasonably slow). The cabin has all you would need - note the walls are thin, the floors creek, and the doors are noisy, so once one is up you’re all up! Again this worked for us but definitely something to bear in mind. It’s a great location to also explore the coast from - we took daytips to Cleethorpes and Skegness (both about 30mins drive with dog friendly beaches!!) and we even walked cross-country to The Splash in Little Cawthrope. Sea or Country it’s all here…. Highly recommend if you want to get away from it and explore our wonderful country!!

We had a Family get together with a Nice visiting from Australia It was a lovely relaxing holiday.

The Lodge was clean, well equipped and spacious. The kitchen was well equipped and had everything you could need. The bedrooms were spacious with plenty of wardrobe space. The beds were comforting and we slept like logs. The wraparound verandah was a bonus with tables and chairs. Never been in a Lodge before and it was like being in a Western.Loved it. It was blissfully quiet with the only sound was the Wind rustling the trees. Kirsty thoughtfully provided an extra set of keys and was very personable. Never been to Lincolnshire before and assumed it was all flat. The Wolds proved me wrong it's lovely and the roads are quiet and excellent. There are a lot of on site activities but we were too busy visiting the local attractions and pubs. Royal Oak and Kenwick Manor close and excellent. If ever a place was well named it is "The Great Escape" Spot on

The lodge was in a lovely setting right next to to a lovely wood setting ideal for our grandchildren and dogs to explore.

A very nice welcome basket greeted us on arrival with thought for the grandkids and dogs, the lodge was very spacious and had all the home comforts you could ask for. The downside was there was no smart tv just freeview and the Wi-Fi was very poor and unreliable which was also disappointing as it was advertised with both and would have been great for the wet days we had especially for the children. We found the washing machine was not working and did tell the owner who was very apologetic and was going to organise there maintenance man to come and fix it but in the end we had to go to a laundrette so cancelled as we only had a couple of days left. Overall we felt the lodge could do with a little TLC, but all in all we did have a nice time at The Great Escape and would recommend.
