What our customers say about their holidays

Absolutely gorgeous cottage.
Modern showeroom, lots of towels and toilet tissue. First impression walking in was how warm and well kept the cottage was. Fully equipped with modern kitchen fitting the cottage feel and dishwasher. There is a washing machine at the property too! We didn't take advantage of either. But great little extras. We lit the log burner for a cosy evening and we logged into our netflix to watch a film. WiFi was excellent. We were so grateful we could take our dogs. The dogs were welcome. We brought with us their towels and beds and food bowls. A lovely little gated area we were allowed to use for the dogs. We were out all day exploring so the dogs got well walked over the couple of days. Lots of things to do nearby if you like history, as we do. We regret the vulcan museum is only open on a Saturday so we'll have to come back for that! The Scottish border is near. Where we visited Gretna green. Going back to Tight Lyne...a big superking bed. Quiet location. Lots of wildlife to see and a very friendly owner David who came to check we were OK. Departure day we met Pip the border collie who you might see when David is working... just a real wholesome break for us overall. Thank you

Linden Barn was the perfect family holiday retreat. The Barn was bright, fresh and comfortable. All the details has been thought of - a high quality welcome hamper, plenty of wood and paper for the log burner, comfortable beds and lots of space for the children including the lovely reading area on the landing. The large utility room was very handy for storing all the walking shoes and coats. The outside space was very inviting, if small, and there were some fresh herbs growing, which we used in cooking. In all, it was a cosy and welcome place to return to after a day's walking. The owners were on hand and very friendly and helpful the couple of times we met them, but left us to enjoy our privacy. The Barn has a fantastic situation, minutes off the M6 and accessible to the nearby Lake District as well as the Northern Yorkshire Dales. We enjoyed varied walks in both areas as well as some walks directly from the Barn itself. The village is delightful to walk around with many little streams, pretty cottages and a beautiful Church. We would highly recommend Linden Barn for a stay in this beautiful area.

One of the best appointed cottages/barns we have ever stayed in . Immaculately clean , comfortable , everything you need is provided and the lovely helpful owners live next door . The barn setting is beautiful , great views , a lovely well tended garden and an adjacent field housing a very friendly horse, Pablo. Red squirrels came to the garden during our stay ! Peaceful and a great place to unwind . A lovely welcome basket was left including delicious homemade marmalade and cake made by the owner . Often when we have stayed in places , the garden and the outside is a bit tatty but this was just a beautiful place to sit and enjoy the views across the countryside . Great local walks , including stone circles , babbling streams and lots of wildlife . Perfect !

Wow, wow and wow the pictures of Linden Barn does not do the barn justice. The barn was immaculate when we arrived and the welcome basket was lovely, especially the lemon cake. The only way I can describe the location is idyllic and so quiet. We loved sitting outside in the morning watching the birds and first for us a red squirrel. The barn in well equipped with everything you need, with comfy beds to boot. The barn was very cosy especially when you get the open fire roaring at night. The George hotel just a 2 minute walk away served lovely food and beer with nice friendly staff. The takeaway is also worth a try. Lots of walks on your door step if that is your thing as well. We would definitely love to return one day.

Travelling to family in Cheshire from Cornwall is a long journey so when we found this little gem of a place we booked it then extended it by 3 days before we set off.
Living in a bungalow of our own its hard to find a holiday cottage/bungalow that is just perfect for us both and the 2 dogs who loved their holiday too. Quiet and cosy no noisy neighbours and easy access to where ever you wish to meet with family or a well stocked kitchen when we cooked a family meal for my 64th birthday. My grand daughters drove to see us which was lovely and my youngest grandchildren too so there is plenty of space in the huge front room and easy to the kitchen too. looking forward to staying again later on in the year if we can book the weeks needed. Thank you for a lovely stay at your special bungalow. Lynn and Harry Poppy and Rupert - our 2 Dalmatians.
