What our customers say about their holidays
Tracey - Verified booking
We stayed at 1 The Dell for a week in September.
The chalet was clean and the kitchen was well equipped - apart from the lack of any oven gloves. The tea towels supplied were very thin meaning it was impossible to get anything out of the oven without getting burnt. The fridge freezer was a good size and efficient. Nice dining table with comfy chairs. The living room was a good size but the sofa was awful. It was L shaped and although the seats were reasonably comfortable, the back was awful. It was very low, giving no support above the shoulders and the cushions were dreadful. We added pillows from the beds for extra comfort. It is also quite small - there were only 3 adults in our party and we feel if there had been four of us we would not have been able to fit on the sofa. There was another chair but this was horrible - uncomfortable and the legs were so wobbly we didn't risk sitting in it. The bathroom had a constant smell in it and the shower was awful. Absolutely no power and the shower head looked like it had never been cleaned or de-scaled. The bedrooms were very small but ok. Furniture was fine and our adult daughter was quite happy in the twin room. This may not have been the case if there were two adults in there though as it was tiny. The double bed was not great - a hard wooden frame made it uncomfortable to sit up in and the bottom of the bed has wooden ends that stick up. There is very little space to get round the bottom of the bed and we had only been in the chalet 10 minutes when my husband hit his knee on it causing bleeding and swelling - not a great start! The mattress was ok but not the best - we kept rolling into the middle. So there were negatives which would probably prevent us going there again, but it could be so nice if these were addressed. The decor of the chalet was lovely - we liked the beach theme. The location is perfect, Mundesley is a lovely village and to be so close to the beach was great. We did enjoy our holiday but the bed, shower and sofa definitely need addressing.

Absolutely wonderful campsite.
The staff are so lovely and cannot do enough, they have been so welcoming from before we even got here! The cabin is brilliant, very clever layout for lots in such a small space. The beds and sofa are very comfortable, and good quality bedding is included. Be warned if you have a small toddler that likes to touch everything (like ours) the microwave/oven, kettle, cutlery draw are all within easy reach and can be turned on very easily by them. Don't go mad with shopping as not a huge amount of place to store, but there is a decent size fridge with a little freezer box at the top. You wouldn't be able to cook large meals, but we've done well with pre cooked pasta, ready meals and tinned stuff in the microwave and hob. We tried the local fish and chip shop a couple of times and that was really tasty, we used the corner shop for essentials/snacks and just drove to the sainsburys in Attleborough for more specific things. Lovely little day out to the zoo next door and it's great to hear the zoo animals at night. The onsite Park is probably more suited to slightly older children, my 4year old was just a little too small, and my toddler wasn't able to do very much, but they just love running around the grass anyway! We drove to the little park in Attleborough one day which is a nice little play area for them both. If you come in winter time like us, make sure you have wellies, it gets very muddy everywhere!! We loved it so much, we managed to extend our week by a few more days, and the park team couldn't have been more helpful with this!

Had such an amazing week at 30 Burtons Mill.
The property is excellently maintained. We had a problem with the TV but after speaking with the owner who managed to get a chap out early the following day, all was well. Couldnât have asked for better service. Being able to sit on the front in the sunshine after a âlong day on the beachâ was an added bonus. We have stayed in this area previously and decided to return as itâs perfectly situated with being close to a friendly pub (The Swan) which serve good food and outside pods which can be reserved. Tesco is on the doorstep. Sea Palling is only a short drive away and our favourite beach with only a five minute walk from the car park (short cut over the dunes from the furthest away car park and parking as far away from the entrance) where youll find lots of vacated beautiful soft sand to play ball games and shallow waters if you fancy a swim as we did. The lady next door told us about a Groupon offer for Simpsons boatyard (literally just around the corner) which we took up. Roughly half price 2 hour electric boat hire. Of course fabulous weather can make or break your holiday but we had wall to wall sunshine every day!!!If I have one issue it is the road noise but other than that itâs top marks out of all the properties weâve stayed in over the years in and around the area. Thank you.

A really good property that was accurately described and made for a great stay.
While I wasn't sure how the table and chairs in the front garden would work out, we were pleasantly surprised to find itâs actually very discreet as the house is at the end Burton Mills with no passing foot traffic. Clever use of laurel means you get privacy without loss of sunshine. It was also our first time using Sykes for a holiday rental and everything went very smoothly from booking to arrival. I would definitely recommend this property for anyone wanting to stay in the north east Norfolk area. Town has supermarket, butchers, cafe and pub and a very popular fish and chip takeaway (queues on a Friday, so get there in plenty of time!). The back garden is largely in shade, but it proved a good place to store our bikes (you might want to bring a padlock to make the back gate extra secure). The property does back on to the A149, but the traffic noise did not concern us unduly. Great location, smart, well-presented home.

Back again for another stay at Sea Urchin.
First up, Robert is a lovely gentleman who meets you with the keys and all instructions, he makes you feel so welcome. Sea Urchin is very clean, cosy and welcoming - a home from home! The location is perfect! On the beach in under 1 minute and itâs so pretty, the locals are friendly and the way of life takes me back a good 20 years. Thereâs lots to see and do in the area too, a little tip; if wanting to visit a restaurant or cafe at this time of the year do ring ahead to check theyâre open first. For Sunday lunch bookings also ring a few days ahead. Otherwise thereâs a lovely farm shop at Boundary Farm approx 3.5 miles and a supermarket approx 5 miles. I canât wait to go back to Sea Urchin! Thank you Robert once again, you are the perfect host with impeccable manners, and for being flexible with times too.
