This beautiful detached stone cottage is charming, packed with traditional features with exposed roof timbers and stone walls. The location is pretty amazing too. Set in 18 acres in the foothills of Maumturk Mountain (2307 ft) with fine views of the Maam Valley to Lough Corrib.
Interiors have been sympathetically restored to retain character and charm with a lovely open living space complete with wood burning stove, a lovely farmhouse style kitchen and French doors onto the garden.
Get out and about and explore this beautiful landscape. This charming holiday home is in a remote valley just 4 miles from Lough Corrib, between Leenane and Cornamona in the heart of Joyce country. Maam is the place to pick up daily provisions with its shop, restaurant and pub. And there’s a lovely sandy beach at Lough Nafooeis, perfect for a picnic.
This area is ideal for walking, climbing or touring with many activities available including the Delphi Adventure Centre for boating and canoeing. Salmon and trout fishing on nearby Lough Corrib and Mask. The village of Leenane is situated in spectacular scenery at the head of Killary Harbour. A good place for stocking up on provisions and stopping off for lunch at the pub or one of the restaurants. Get out and about and explore this scenic coastline and visit Killary Harbour and Kylemore Abbey. This is a great base for discovering the spectacular scenery of Connemara with its many lakes, mountains and interesting and varied coastline and dark night skies.
There’s plenty of adventure on the doorstep too, hire a boat, go sailing, climbing or take to the saddle and explore this beautiful landscape horseback.
