Dog Friendly Lincoln Holiday Cottages

Lincoln is a historic city in the East Midlands. Lincoln is famous for its beautiful mediaeval cathedral with its ancient library. If you like history, you'll also love Lincoln Castle and Doddington Hall and Gardens. For a spot of shopping, try the unique small shops down the winding and cobblestoned Steep Hill area of the city. Or, to escape the buzz of city life, there are lovely areas for walks, such as Whisby Nature Park and Hartsholme Country Park.

At Dog Friendly Cottages, we know how important it is to have your canine companion there for all your adventures. We have a great range of dog-friendly cottages in Lincoln, making sure that your pup feels welcome. For big family getaways, we have spacious farmhouses or modern barn conversions. If you want something more private, try our luxury cabins or secluded cottages for some peace and quiet.

If you're looking for a great way to explore Lincoln, look no further than our Lincoln dog-friendly cottages. Whether you want a metropolitan break in this charming city, or to take your whole family to the large Christmas markets, you'll find plenty to do. Plus there are plenty of places to try real Lincolnshire sausages, plum bread, and locally made gin.

What our customers say about their holidays

  • Jacqui - Verified booking

    Beautiful lodge.

Beautiful setting. A balanced scoring. Usually when looking to book a break away, photos can make the accommodations look bigger than the actual size, but we were really pleased that this was the other way around, the lodge being bigger than anticipated. Great space for a family get together. Open lounge and kitchen diner is perfect when socialising when cooking. The table space for eating is again great! The position on the site was perfect. Having a morning cuppa sitting on the upstairs balcony watching the birds & ducks was a real treat. A heron even popped in to help himself to morning breakfast. The hot tub was similarly a hit with a glass( plastic wine ones are there) of Prosecco, a bottle was left as a welcome pack. All rooms have their own heating regulation which is a bonus to meet a number of people’s temperature preferences. As with any underfloor it’s tricky to regulate “instant heat” so I would suggest regulating the heating (and time) in each room when you arrive based on your usual order preferences, rather than what the previous occupier has set them as. when we arrived some rooms were set at 30*! - we turned them down but the clock setting was set incorrectly so went extremely cold later in the evening as it had turned itself off in night mode. Easily rectified for the rest of the stay. While the Lodge is minimally furnished, again perfect for a holiday letting, Sadly taking a closer look the cleanliness wasn’t the best. The fridge/ freezer hadn’t been cleaned properly, food crumbs & sticky residue left behind, the chopping boards in the kitchen cupboard were greasy as was some of the cutlery. Dust and fluff underneath the beds. The hoover was stored in the utility room cupboard & stunk of damp. No mop or other floor cleaner. The starter cleaning pack didn’t include any bacterial spray, only a 15ml washing up liquid, cloth & 3 dishwasher tablets, so wasn’t sufficient products for cleaning before unpacking. After phoning the management company to find out where the requested cot was kept, I was quite shocked to find out it was kept in the utility room under the sink, not in one of the 2x bedrooms that had significant walk in wardrobe space, despite the the call handler explaining the reason being limited space. Not what I would call appropriate infection control. If the cleanliness issues could be resolved. I would have given this lodge a straight 10 and 5 stars.

An truly idyllic place to stay.

This was our second stay at The Old Wood Coach House and I can only say we appreciated it even more the second time around. It has everything you need, and all that you never knew you needed! The owners have produced a lovely holiday home in a peaceful, tranquil environment. Perfect for escaping the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Surrounded by nature, and accessible only by small tree lined roads, it's a little like travelling into a fairytale. The love, energy and effort that has gone into creating such a beautiful and natural retreat can be seen in an abundance of small details. The gently cultivated garden encourages local wildlife and one can lose hours watching the birds, squirrels, frogs and others roam free. Our little dog was a tad confused when one day he stepped outside into what can only be described as a "cloud of butterflies!" The house is also not short of "mod cons", to name just a few - rainfall showers in both bathrooms (one also has a bath tub), a "smart" hob and oven, a speaker for your playlist if you so choose , many little touches that make sure your stay is as easy, comfortable and pleasant as possible. There is no wifi, very little "cell signal" or "data coverage", but it can be found in certain areas of the house and garden if wanted or needed. It was a refreshing change not to be held hostage by pinging phones or computers, but also handy to know we could access it if need be. The owners, although only next door, are not intrusive, and ensure their guests are given privacy. However, in the event of any issues, they are friendly; quick, efficent in dealing with them. Local amenities are near by and easily accessible. Essentially, one has the best of all worlds at The Old Wood Coach House.

    Outstanding.

The place itself is not only the cleanest holiday rental we have ever stayed in, it has everything you need for a relaxing stay. The owners have thought of everything for both people and dogs. There is a detailed excellent list of facilities in the area, things to do and places to eat. They provided blankets, towels and throws for the dogs along with treats & bowls and the shower area is genius. You can do everything you need to in the downstairs utility room with the dogs so they are clean to go upstairs. If you are looking at this place but are worried about dogs having been there, don't be as it's super clean. The lovely attentive owners are on hand if you need anything via text or phone. Other than popping round to say hello after you arrive, to ask if you need anything, you don't see them and they completely respect your privacy. A little welcome pack is waiting for you with homemade goods, which are beautiful. The area is idilic and very peaceful and the woods are fantastic for walking the dogs. Both our dogs loved it and 1 of them spent most of her time on the balcony watching the wildlife and the birds and squirrels on the bird feeder. The garden is completely secure and large, sometimes a property says its secure, but it's not. So nice to be able to let the dogs roam and not have to worry about them escaping. Our only complaint was that we were only there for 3 days and really wish we had booked for a week. We all had a wonderfully relaxing few days and slept amazing well, we wish more rentals were like this. Thank you for providing such a wonderful place for people and the fury family to spend their holidays. Fabulous.

Firstly i would have liked more info about the fishing ahead of arrival, however as this turned out it was fantastic.

Lodge 24 is amazing and was only let down in my opinion by not having an enclosed deck area so my dog (Cockapoo) could wander around when the doors were open without visiting adjacent lodges! (But the neighbor's were all ok with his visits, some even giving him treats), but this would not deter me from revisiting. On arrival we had a welcome pack and everything was relatively clean and tidy. The main downside i noticed was a lot of fruit flies and spiders in the downstairs bathroom and corner of the lounge where the floor lamp was. Also the microwave and oven were a nightmare to figure out how to operate. They were both great equipment, however operating even the basic functions was arduous. Aside from the above all i would ask is that the hot tub area have better privacy screening as the current lattice screens do not offer much privacy. I also thought it strange that an 8 person lodge only had one under counter fridge in the kitchen and was expecting to find a freezer somewhere. Despite checking all the units i figured they didn't have one as most visitors wouldn't need any frozen food. It was only on checking out i found a floor to ceiling fridge freezer in the utility room lol. I swear i looked there too.... Anyway, Lodge 24 is exceptional and very well appointed throughout and i will hopefully return soon.

Old Wood Coach House certainly has the "wow" factor .

A perfect place for a peaceful retreat from the outside world, but close enough to local places to visit. Decorated to a very high standard and is very well equipped, including a doggie shower on the lower level. The accommodation offers two great showers and the dishwasher was an added bonus. The main living area is upstairs and overlooks the local wood which is next door to the property and offers a great place for walking . The view from the lounge and outside verandah gives the feeling of staying and living in a tree house . Katharine and David were perfect hosts and live next door to the property and were very attentive in filling up the logs for the log burner and the nuts and seeds for the bird feeders which attracted many different bird life and funny antics by the squirrels. Their welcome pack was very thoughtful and very much appreciated ,including homemade.jams, lemon drizzle.cake and vase of daffodils .1 If you want a place away from the hustle and bustle of a busy life and a delightful home from home to relax and recharge your batteries ,this is the place to come .No WiFi helps in the unwinding and relaxation process. A real tonic and fantastic property ,highly recommend and will definitely return.
