Guests say

The Cottage in Keswick offers stunning views and a prime location for beautiful walks and easy access to the town. Guests appreciate the comfortable beds and the 'upside-down' layout that maximises the scenery. Some guests have noted issues with cleanliness and maintenance, but others have had a lovely stay, mentioning the helpfulness of the owners and the welcoming touches like a cake and cookies.

Reviews indicate that while some areas of the cottage are clean, with fresh bedding and tidy spaces, there are repeated concerns about odours, the need for a deep clean, and pet smells. The oven and shower have been specifically mentioned as needing better cleaning.

The location is highly praised for its proximity to Keswick and beautiful walks, with marvellous views from the property. However, some guests noted the proximity to the road and associated noise.

Guests find the beds comfortable and the living space pleasant, but there are complaints about noise from appliances and a musty smell in some rooms that affected the overall comfort.

The facilities are generally appreciated, with a well-equipped kitchen and good Wi-Fi. However, there are several mentions of maintenance issues such as mould, dampness, and problems with the boiler and TV, suggesting that some facilities require attention.

Guests have mentioned thoughtful touches like a cake, cookies, and Plum Bread on arrival, which are well-received. However, it should be noted that such gifts are not guaranteed and may vary with each stay.

Poor points: main issue was many hairs on the bed sheet,( don’t know if they were human or pet) had to use a duvet cover over the top as there was no spare sheet in the cupboard ( we arrived at 9.30 pm) and as it was bank holiday weekend would be difficult contacting company to get another one brought out, batteries dead in tv remote so couldn’t use it, (had to buy new ones Saturday morning) road very busy and was noisy at certain times of day, all cleaning products in bathroom empty! None at all in en-suite. Kitchen tap is either full on or nothing, the heating timing needs adjusting to come on before 8.30 in the morning as most people are already up way before then and it was a bit chilly first thing. the outside really needed a good sweep up lots of leaves just looked unkept probably because it’s for sale it feels like no one seems to be bothered about the small things? Despite the minor poor points had a lovely week although wouldn’t book this property again as not enough outside space/ garden.

There was a lot of months that kept flying around. The remote for the television wouldn't always work. The property was really clean and the bedding was spotless. We enjoyed our stay.

Very clean, had everything I needed. Lovely shower and bathrooms, beds were so comfortable. Views towards Newlands valley were fantastic. Just a shame the rain hardly stopped, and the winds were very strong. Easy access to Keswick centre via the Threlkeld to Keswick railway path.
