Guests say

Ladstock Cottage is highly praised for its cleanliness, comfort, and stunning location in the Lake District. Guests appreciate the well-equipped property, its modern amenities, and the welcoming atmosphere. While some minor maintenance issues and a lack of clear instructions for heating control were noted, these did not significantly detract from the overall positive experiences. The sound of the nearby beck and the property's proximity to walking trails add to its charm.

Guests consistently report that the cottage is very clean, with several reviews highlighting it as the cleanest they've ever stayed in. The high standard of cleanliness contributes significantly to the comfort and enjoyment of their stay.

The location is frequently described as stunning and perfect for walking holidays, with easy access to Whinlatter Forest and nearby Keswick. The proximity to nature and local attractions is a highlight for many visitors.

The cottage is often described as comfortable and cosy, with a homely feel. However, some guests experienced issues with heating control, which affected their comfort. Despite this, the overall sentiment regarding comfort is very positive.

While the property is well-equipped and guests are generally pleased with the facilities, there are recurring mentions of minor maintenance issues such as broken toilet seats and non-functional extractor fans. These issues suggest room for improvement in facilities and maintenance.

There are positive comments about the provision of amenities such as miniature shampoos and cooking oil, which guests found helpful. However, there is no mention of gifts, so it is not possible to score the property on thoughtfulness in terms of gifts.

The mattress in the king size bedroom also needs replacing as it is passed its best. Otherwise great location and we enjoyed celebrating our 60th year with our two daughters and their partners.

Nice touches like Sonos and the second lounge make it all very comfortable. Bathrooms finished to a great standard and showers are great. The garden area is really pretty and nice to sit out in the chairs on sunny days. The beck is spectacular - especially after a lot of rain. We found the bed a little too soft but appreciate this is personal preference.

The road / track however isn't busy at all but crazy people on bikes kept us edge everything we had our dogs in the garden, there were also irresponsible dog walkers who allowed their dogs to walk into the property and over the week 3 different cars reversed into the drive to turn around as they had obviously taking a wrong turn. The property could easily have a fence/gate fitted at minimal cost and this would make it a 10 out of 10 for us as the location, facilities, cleanliness, peacefulness were all a 10 ! Even though the lack of an enclosed garden spoilt it for us we will definitely be booking it again as it was a very enjoyable weeks holiday for us all.
