Guests say

Guests have praised Gate House for its attention to detail, luxury, and cleanliness, with many appreciating the well-equipped kitchen and comfortable furnishings. The property's location in Coniston is well-regarded, offering easy access to walks. The hot tub is a highlight after exploring the fells. While one guest experienced a personal tragedy affecting their stay, the overall sentiment is highly positive.

Reviewers consistently mention the cleanliness of the property, describing it as 'really clean' and well cared for, indicating a high standard of cleanliness.

The location is praised for its convenience and proximity to local walks, though one review suggests a lack of nearby walks for larger dogs. Overall, the location is considered good.

Comfort is highlighted with mentions of a 'comfortable house' and high-standard furnishings. The presence of ensuites and a hot tub contribute to the comfort level.

Facilities are generally well-regarded, especially the kitchen equipment. However, a request for more champagne flutes and a starter pack of logs suggests room for improvement.

While the reviews reflect a positive experience, there is no specific mention of gifts or extra thoughtful touches that are provided as standard, so it is not possible to score this category.

We had good weather and did plenty of walks from the door. There are plenty of places to eat in the village all within walking distance. There were however a few housekeeping issues namely the fan oven on the range appears not to be working and the timer is broken. There is no tv remote in the snug and most of the jets in the hot tub are not working.

Beautiful area and so easy for walks direct from the house. If we come back to Coniston we will definitely be back at the gate house.
