Grasmere is a well-regarded holiday rental in Ambleside, praised for its cleanliness, spaciousness, and peaceful location. Guests appreciate the comfortable beds and quality linen, as well as the property's suitability for families and pets. The scenic surroundings and proximity to local attractions add to its charm. While some maintenance issues are noted, the overall experience is positive, with many guests planning return visits.
The property consistently receives compliments for its cleanliness, with several reviews highlighting the tidy and well-maintained condition. However, a few guests mentioned minor issues such as bird droppings at the entrance, which slightly impacts the score.
The location is frequently described as peaceful, beautiful, and perfect for exploring the Lakes. Its proximity to a local pub and scenic walks contributes to a high rating, although its remoteness from shops and amenities is noted.
Guests find the accommodation comfortable, with special mentions of the quality beds and bedding. Some reviews, however, point out that certain areas can feel cramped, and the fridge size is inadequate for larger groups, which slightly lowers the comfort score.
While the property is equipped with essentials and praised for features like fast Wi-Fi and electric heating, several reviews cite issues with bathroom seals, lack of firewood, and absence of a dishwasher. These maintenance concerns affect the facilities score.
There are mixed comments regarding thoughtfulness. Some guests suggest improvements like providing logs for the fire and a welcome pack, but as there are no consistent mentions of gifts or special touches, it is not possible to accurately score this category.

The facilities were good, clean indoors, comfortable furniture to relax on after a busy day outdoors. Parking on the property was perfect. Overall my family of 5 stayed comfortably we made full use of the modern kitchen & large bathroom there were adequate number of bedrooms with enough storage cupboards and drawers. The property is around 25-30 mins drive from the shops and restaurants for anyone looking to stay here. Only one negative feedback. The porch outside the entrance could have been cleaner alot of bird poo on the floor before entry into the property.

This has clearly been an issue for some time as the bath panel was swelling and paint coming off. A small detail but will have a detrimental effect on the look of the bathroom quickly. Bed linen and towels of good quality and immaculate. All beds very comfortable. Electric heating worked well. I do feel some logs should be provided for the first night for simplicity for late arriving guests. Wi-Fi good and fast, well equipped kitchen. We enjoyed our stay very much.
