Stay snuggled up while the designated chef whips up a tasty meal in the fully-equipped kitchen/diner then enjoy this together at the dining table that overlooks the garden and nearby woodland. Soak up the last of the sun in the shared garden or pop open a bottle of fizz at the picnic table and cheers to your getaway. When the evening draws to a close, retire either of the spacious super-king-size rooms serviced by a shower room with a beautiful feature stone wall and a sleek ground-floor bathroom. The picturesque village of Grasmere, located in the heart of the Lake District National Park, is perhaps best known as the residence of William Wordsworth, who once referred to it as "the most beautiful spot that man has ever discovered." The Wilson family has been making gingerbread for over six decades at The Grasmere Gingerbread Shop. In addition, the village contains a number of shops, pubs, a 13th-century church, and Grasmere Lake. Every August, Grasmere Sports is held, where participants compete in a variety of sports, including Cumberland wrestling. The town of Ambleside and Lake Winderemere are only eight kilometres away, where you will find shops, pubs, and restaurants, as well as the Bridge House, which is one of the most photographed structures in the Lake District. Lake Windermere offers cruises, boat trips, and watersports, and the towns of Windermere and Keswick are within driving distance. Grasmere is an excellent location for a Lake District retreat.

Lovely large front garden, good for dogs and children. Car parking was an issue as we could not get our car round a tight corner and due to big rocks in the ground (apparently we were advised that we could, but this was not possible without damaging our car). No welcome pack, which was disappointing as we felt the property lacked attention to detail (previous accommodations we have stayed in have always done this). Bigger towels (as previous guests have also said) would have been better as we were only provided with little hand towels to get dried with. Accommodation is also shared with whoever is staying next door, which means it can become noisy as the fire doors do not block out sound. But overall, despite these things, the accommodation was modern and clean so thank you.

Nicely furnished & decorated. Track to property is very uneven, caught the bottom of my car a couple of times. Garden is a lovely peaceful haven to relax in with a glass of wine at the end of the day. Dog towels was a nice touch & much appreciated. A hand towel in the downstairs bathroom & kitchen would have been helpful.

But Little How is ideally set up for a small family or a pair of couples. Very comfortable, a great garden, and a simply fabulous location.
