A foodie’s paradise, with inns, shops and the internationally acclaimed Michelin Star restaurant, L'Enclume. There is also Cartmel Racecourse. Ten minutes west of the cottage the bustling village of Bowness sits on the shores of Lake Windermere and again offers a wealth of places to eat and drink, a great selection of shops and visitor attractions for all the family.

The only thing I noticed and it didn’t affect us was that the freezer was frozen over (needs defrosting) We ate at the pub at the top of the road The Sun Inn every evening. Lovely walks, Windermere not too far drive away. Derwent Water and Borrowdale were stunning. We enjoyed Fell Foot park with our Spaniel.
