With views to the sea and salt-marshes from its first floor, this is a house of character and elegance, standing in its own private lawned garden and close to the centre of little Cley and its beach. A spacious, self-contained wing of imposing Cley Hall (built in 1770), it is well furnished and equipped, with excellent sailing, fishing and bird-watching on the nature reserve immediately available. Golf, swimming-pool and beach at Sheringham (5 miles). Restaurant/pub nearby. Shop 1/3 mile.
Although the garden is enclosed, please be aware that it may not be totally secure for small dogs and young children. Up to one dog only.

Such a comfortable, welcoming and generously equipped house to stay at. We were delighted by the relaxing and dog friendly location away from traffic but within walking distance of the beach, the saltmarshes, the pub and deli. No need to use the car. Very lovely.

If you want an over restored period property with much of the character modernised away then this is not the property for you. Having said that it is not lacking in facilities or equipment. The Old Butlers House still has plenty of period charm. We stayed in fairly cold weather. It is a big place with very high ceilings so remember to get the heating on and to light the fire in good time to allow it to warm up when the weather is cold. The location is great as it is only a few minutes walk to the village main street.
