Guests say

Old Mill in Lucker is a well-furnished cottage praised for its cleanliness, high-standard furnishings, and beautiful setting in Northumberland. Spacious rooms, a log burning stove, and a hot tub add to the comfort, although the kitchen's location and lack of child gates may pose challenges for some. Despite an issue with WiFi and seating arrangements, the property's charm and quality are evident.

The property is consistently described as exceptionally clean, indicating a high level of cleanliness throughout.

The cottage's proximity to Bamburgh and the coast, along with its setting in Northumberland, suggests a favourable location. However, no explicit negative or positive details are provided to fully assess.

Guests find the beds extremely comfortable and appreciate the spacious bedrooms, but the kitchen's top-floor location and lack of child gates may affect overall comfort for some visitors.

Facilities like the log burning stove and hot tub are appreciated, but issues with WiFi and insufficient dining chairs and high chairs for children are noted. No mention of maintenance quality prevents a higher score.

There is no mention of gifts or special touches that would indicate thoughtfulness from the hosts, so it is not possible to provide a score in this category.

I have a gas cooker so really struggled. Found instructions for everything but the cooker hob.

Be aware that the kitchen is on the top floor. With elderly relatives and small children it was a challenge. Ideally we should have asked for child gates. The rooms are very spacious. The downstairs room could benefit from a couple of chairs and small table, rather than sitting on the bed. Enough room for them. The hot tub was very nice and we were lucky with weather. Could do with a washing line outside especially for the swim wear. The property is well equipped. However, we only had 5 dining chairs, when we had 6 adults and 2 children. A couple of high chairs would have been ideal. Not sure if this was an option. The bathrooms are very spacious and done to a high quality. The little box

This cottage had no WiFi. Owners knew it was not working before we arrived but did not inform us. The router was not connected and maintenance could not repair. Consequently the smart tv was not available due to no internet connection. We would not have booked this property had we known there was no internet connection. We have had no contact from either Sykes Cottages or the owners since we informed them, during our stay, of our complaint. Very poor service.
