Close by there are miles of sandy beaches to explore and further afield there are magnificent castles to discover such as Dunstanburgh, Warkworth, Lindisfarne and Alnwick.
Towns worth a visit include the historic market town of Alnwick; Alnmouth known for its excellent golf course; and the farming hamlet of Howick which is known for being the birthplace of Earl Grey tea.

Seahouses offers a variety of shops and a good selection of inns, pubs and eating places. Nearby are miles and miles of splendid sandy beaches and the opportunity to visit the bird sanctuary or seal colony on the famous Farne Islands with boat trips running daily from Seahouses, is not to be missed. There are numerous castles and great houses to explore, such as the magnificent castles at Bamburgh, Cragside, and Alnwick (home of the Duke of Northumberland), to mention just a few. Lovely house, situated back off the main road with ample parking right outside and well situated to access all the local amenities. The house was equipped with excellent facilities throughout, everything we needed for our weeks stay. Owners were attentive during the week and left a welcome basket on arrival which was much appreciated.
