On Cumbria's west coast, St. Bees is a historic seaside community with a Norman priory, an Elizabethan public school, a store, a Post Office, and a few old-fashioned taverns. It is the beginning of the renowned Wainwright coast-to-coast walk and a great starting point for exploring the western Lake District and Cumbrian shore. The only significant sea cliff between Wales and Scotland is St. Bees Head, which is also Cumbria's only Heritage shoreline. There is a nice beach nearby, and there are lots of beautiful hikes you can take along the cliffs, which are also the location of one of the most significant seabird colonies in England. The community also has a nine-hole golf course.

A deceptively spacious place. Lakes just a short drive away. Whitehaven also a short drive for shopping. The cafe is great just by the property with very friendly staff. St Bees is a lovely unspoiled place. Also we recommend the cliff walk for spectacular views over the bay.

The water pressure was a little frustrating but we knew about it from previous comments and it did not spoil our stay.
