Parsley Cottage in Lancaster offers a spacious, well-equipped stay with a good-sized garden and friendly ponies in the adjacent field. It's in a peaceful, rural setting near Lancaster, ideal for countryside and seaside visits. Guests appreciate the property's tranquility, the helpfulness of the owners, and the proximity to local attractions. While some guests mention areas for improvement, the majority reflect on a lovely, relaxing stay, with many planning to return.
Reviews on cleanliness are mixed, with several guests praising the property's tidiness, while others report issues with dust, cobwebs, and general maintenance. The positive experiences suggest good standards, but the negative feedback indicates room for improvement.
The location is highly praised for its peaceful rural setting, proximity to Lancaster, and accessibility to the Lake District and Morecambe Bay. Guests enjoy the nearby garden centre and the scenic walks available from the cottage.
Guests find the cottage comfortable, with spacious rooms and a cosy atmosphere. Some guests mention the beds could be more comfortable, but overall, the cottage provides a relaxing environment.
The cottage is well-equipped, especially the kitchen, and guests appreciate the private garden. However, there are several mentions of maintenance issues such as non-working appliances and the need for updates to soft furnishings and minor repairs.
There is no consistent mention of gifts or special touches that would indicate thoughtfulness from the hosts. While some guests note the helpfulness of the owners, there is no sufficient information to score this category.

The property is well located for an easy drive to Lancaster and just beyond to Morecambe. The on-site garden centre was lovely and a nice place to get a coffee (our 7yo loved playing with the resident cats!). The property was comfortable and clean (though as a barn conversion in the middle of the countryside, you do need to overlook the odd cobweb or two) but it was a shame that the grass in the enclosed garden hadn't been cut which meant we didn't make the most of the space. Agree with other reviews that the towels are on the small side and the Wifi is a bit patchy... not deal breakers, but should be quick-fixes to improve the guest experience.
