  We really enjoyed our stay, although the neighbours were extremely difficult.

  When we arrived we pulled into the bay by the property to unload our belongings, a young woman from the house in front of the bay immediately came out and shouted at us, she also insulted me when I told her we were only unpacking our stuff, we didn’t plan on parking there. The lady at the back said there’s been a lot of bother from them; however they didn’t bother us again. Then my husband and I were in the kitchen with the door open at the back when a large dog came bounding through the door and tried to attack me, my husband threw water on it and was able to intimidate the dog so that it moved and we managed to barricade ourselves behind the back door until finally my husband closed the door. I was quite shaken by the experience. My husband shouted through the window for the neighbour at the end to get his dog- he didn’t and it continued to bark aggressively at us from behind the door; bearing its teeth and ready to attack when we tried to open/close the door window to shout to the man. He was actually hiding behind his gate as we could see him ducking behind the door. I’m concerned that if I had have been a child or my new 12 week old puppy- this would have been a sad story. I loved the cottage though, so beautiful, comfortable and clean. I would say that I wouldn’t take children or elderly people, just in case. Unless the problem is resolved but how could you resolve this? I would not allow this to stop you renting this property- it really is that good, just be careful about the parking and be careful in the shared backyard where there’s no gate between you and the end neighbours with the dog. (The neighbour has a gate but he’d obviously opened it to let his dog out). Ok, so the garden is absolutely gorgeous, very quirky set up on two/three levels. Lovely lady lives next door feeds the seagulls everyday, be careful there’s loads of them that flock there- not a problem for us as we weren’t home in the morning. BBQ area is pleasantly arranged and plenty of seating and cushions. The lights didn’t work when we were there, but we weren’t in the garden late anyway. Overall I would stay here again because it felt very homely, but I’d be extremely careful out the back door in the communal yard part. We never saw the dog before or after it attacked us. There is a gate on the main garden and it’s one step from the back door. Just be careful as you always are in public areas. And don’t speak to the house on the left of the property, very rude. The heating was perfect, bedding ok, decor and condition of the place was just right and spotlessly clean. In a near perfect location. Two large Terraces that look across the bay- stunning.   The property has the potential to be amazing with only a few little tweeks.

  My wife booked through Sykes Cottages and paid £615 for 2 nights stay. On arrival 1st impressions we were impressed but after getting in through the sticking door that has been reported on previous reviews, to which I thought would have been fixed before we arrived! Then we started to unpack, then we found some faults, the fridge door milk holder is cracked so we can't use it for fear of making it worse, the en suite to the master bedroom had cobwebs and leggy spiders between the bin and sink and also in the shower, in the kitchen the oven doesn't work so we can't cook, the BBQ hasn't been cleaned from the previous visitor and is still in the same condition nowas I refuse to clean someone elses mess to use it. The main doors in the lounge still don't close and lock so are open again in the morning so the building is not secure. The TV doesn't work in the Master Bedroom, after we realised that we needed a seperate remote to make it rise from the footboard it says "don't recognise the remote" as there were no instructions re this. We were also really shocked that we have to pay to go swimming on site seperately at an additional cost of £32 for 3 people for 1 session, this wasn't advised in the advertisement so it looked like this was part of the booking. We have done nothing but cook and clean so we could have stayed at home and saved a fortune. We did got to eat at the on site pub/restaurant as they had a deal running of 2 pizzas and 2 pints for £20, we booked a table for 7:45pm and arrived to find someone else sat at our reserved table and ghey needed to flip it, we went to the bar to order and were told they had run out of pizzas so we had to go back to the lodge to cook and clean again. We also fiund out from the on site Sales guy thst 2 other dites close by use this one as they are part of the same group, no wonder they ran out of food!!!! We were extremely dissapointed by these things after us as a family paying so much money for a Fathers Day treat for 2 nights that has been marred and caused some friction in what should have been a very relaxing and celebratory weekend. I have read through the guest review book too and noticed that some of the things I have mentioned have been previously mentioned and also that there are a lot of pages ripped out of the book for some reason too. So it appears they may be read but are on the whole ignored as they are still faulty. I just wanted you to know how our experience has been. Hopefully these points will be looked at so the next guests have a better experience and give the property the review it really needs and is worthy of. A very dissapointed family.

  This was in a lovely , quiet area.

  Beautiful grounds. The property was clean and tidy. Although we did find the previous persons stuff in the bathroom cupboard. Having said that we missed a whole cupboard in the kitchen when we left!!!! It could benefit from a deep, sparkle clean when time permits. There were a few bits that needed attention , like toilet seats a bit wobbly. Blind in bedroom was broken and it really could do with the terrace being enclosed somehow to keep the dog in, but these didn’t spoil anything. We had a visit from the owner who left chocs and fizz which was lovely. It had everything we needed for a weeks stay in the kitchen and I cooked a couple of nights. Be careful when using the washing machine as it shakes the whole kitchen, make sure the cupboards are closed when it’s in spin cycle!!! Wi-Fi was excellent. Smart tvs a bonus. I would have liked a hoover though as with having a small , black dog , I usually hoover every other day at home as dog hair is a nuisance and I like to keep on top of it. The hot tub was FAB It gets the sun for most of the day. Only draw back was no where to hang your towel. So a couple of hooks would be great. Some of the other properties has a gazebo over the tub which we thought was a great idea. We used the tub every evening after long walks through the day which was just so relaxing ❤️ The pub across the road had decent food , a really nice outdoor space overlooking the lake, and was somewhere close. The Lancaster Canal was 10 min walk away , and we loved the walk to the Longlands Hotel ( 15-20 min ) with its marina and The Canal Turn pub (1-1.5 hours walk) There is loads to do and see , if you just do your research before you go. There are roads without footpaths tho . So probs not great with small children. There is not a supermarket within an hours walk. There are a few in Carnforth ( 10 min drive ) Overall a great ,sunny , light and airy lodge close to Morecambe Bay and I would defs go back. We really enjoyed it.

  When we arrived, only 10 minutes before check in time, nothing had been done since the last guests had stayed there.

  The dirty bedding was still in the bath tub, the floors were filthy, it smelt dirty, no new bedding, no clean towels. There was also no gas either, so no hot water. The boiler had a fault message on it. Basically the canisters had run out but not checked for the next guests. The TV didn't work and nor did the WiFi. We had to make call after call to the owners to get this all sorted. We were also advised to call the WiFi people ourselves at first which is not on. The cleaning was put down to the fact there had been a mix up with dates and times and the cleaners not reading the diary, although the cleaner told us otherwise. We had to then vacate the property while the cleaner came and got the place to a decent clean level. Once back in, the TV would keep switching off, so we had to wedge paper under it, to keep it switched on. We had a whole day without WiFi so had to rely on our own data and the tvs in the bedroom didn't work. There was also a broken plate in the cupboard on top of the other plates that we nearly cut our finger on. The lady we spoke to acknowledged it wasn't a good start and they would make up for it. The guy we spoke to also acknowledged it was a rubbish start to our holiday and he would get us some bottles of wine to say sorry. We have received nothing. Once all these issues were sorted, we had a lovely time. The house was so comfortable and homely and was the perfect base for all our trips. The holiday park is very nice but it needs a lot more lighting so you can enjoy an evening stroll after dinner. The bar and restaurant are very nice and friendly as were all the staff. Would we stay again? Most likely, as long as we didn't have the same issues that blighted our first day.

  When we arrived the smell of Drains inside the caravan/lodge was really bad , I cleared the trap drain in the shower and it was full of hair and nasty stuff but it still smelt really bad every day whilst we was there , the hot tub had not been cleaned and had dirt floating around in it and did not smell of bleach or any kind of cleaning products which they always do in the past and it was not cleaned or treated in the whole week we was there , outside needs to be cleaned the glass and windows were fairly dirty and have green mold on the panels outside , tv signal kept cutting out so could not use the telly much the only essential in the property was towels and one toilet roll and hand wash so you would need to bring any essentials you need with you few minor repairs needed doing also , faulty blind in the bedroom and a door handle that kept falling off both toilets are not fixed to the ground properly therefore the smell leaks out of the soil pipe inside the property and the toilet seats were not sitting on the toilet correctly leaving your bum to contact with the inside of the toilet which is disgusting , the kettle was full of chunks of limescale and the toaster was disgusting full of crap and dirty on top I will definetely not be staying there ever again , sofa had stains on it and was pretty old and dated , hardy any coat hangers , main front door was pretty stiff to close and right next to the site looked like a dumping ground full of builders rubbish , the hot tub had shelter and curtains which had zips but every single one was broken , half chipped drinking gkass in the cudboard the only good thing was the bedsheets were clean and hot water
