Chi An Vre, meaning 'house on the hill' is a four-bedroom, seaward facing property in the coastal town of Newlyn, Cornwall. Ideally located near local amenities and tourist attractions such as St Michael's Mount, which you can see from the first floor, this property is the perfect base for families, friends and pawed companions searching for a beach getaway. Start your memorable stay by soaking up the view, upon entering the property pop your coats in the designated storage room. The ground-floor offers an open-plan living/dining room, where you can sink into the sofa while relaxing and watching TV or unwind from technology by playing one of the many board games on offer. The open space allows guests to get on with various tasks while still being together. The dining room table is the perfect spot to enjoy a Cornish pasty or cream tea. The sun room follows on from the living area and provides natural light which further invites you into the garden through the double doors. The garden has outdoor furniture allowing you to take in the surroundings and farmland just over the wall. The downstairs kitchen and utility room is fully equipped with all the essentials to make home-cooked meals and to wash up accordingly. Retreat to one of the four bedrooms, all positioned upstairs, choose from either the Master bedroom with a king-size bed and a Juliet balcony, a double bedroom with a king-sized bed or the twin bedroom. The single bedroom has a desk suitable for those wanting to catch up on work. If work is but a distant memory, plan a trip to one of the many nearby beaches, choose from St Michael's mount in Marazion; Mousehole; one of Cornwall's prettiest fishing villages; Sennen Cove; Porthcurno; or simply browse the streets of St Ives, which is a close drive away. St Ives offers beautiful independent shops, eateries, and coastal walks where you can take in the sea views. If the iconic blue waters of Cornwall is what you are after, Chi An Vre is the ideal base to explore from.
Nestled next to Penzance, and although still a quaint town in its own right, Newlyn is actually the third largest fishing port in England, and an important Port of Refuge for all seafaring craft. This Cornish town is clustered around the harbour, with its historic 800 year old quay (the Mayflower actually left for America from this quay, not Plymouth) curling around a few small boats on the western side. Famous for the Newlyn school of Art and Newlyn Copper, the Cornwall Coastal Path passes through the town, as does the level Mousehole to Marazion cycle path. An abundance of wildlife and flora can be enjoyed along both, with basking sharks, dolphins and grey seals often seen. The Cornish coast is renowned for surfing, and Penwith offers some splendid beaches on which to enjoy this sport as well as surf fishing for sea bass. Mounts Bay also offers a wealth of opportunity for watersports enthusiasts as well as giving visitors an opportunity to relax and unwind in beautiful surroundings.

The house was surprisingly spacious, very clean, tidy, sunny, with excellent views and well equipped with everything you need. The welcome pack on arrival was a very welcome bonus. It was the perfect base for exploring the local area and further afield. There is a bus stop close by which we used every day and found the buses very reliable. We would definitely like to stay here again.
