Guests that stayed at this property said

The property generally receives high marks for cleanliness, with guests finding it well presented upon arrival. However, there were comments about dog hairs on sofa throws and outside maintenance issues, such as uncollected rubbish and a need for patio cleaning, which slightly affected the score.

The location is highly praised for its proximity to Daymer Bay Beach and nearby attractions. Guests appreciate the convenience and the stunning views, contributing to a very high score in this category.

Overall, guests find the property comfortable, with special mentions of the beds and the cosy atmosphere. However, there were remarks about an uncomfortable sofa bed, which suggests room for improvement in this area.

Facilities are generally well-regarded, especially the kitchen and dining areas. Nonetheless, there have been several maintenance issues reported, such as plumbing problems and a need for clearer instructions, which have impacted the score.

Guests have expressed gratitude for the generous welcome hamper and the inclusion of bath towels, which are seen as thoughtful touches. It should be noted that such gifts, while appreciated, are not guaranteed for every stay.

About this property

Ragleighs is an impressive, detached holiday home set within walking distance of Daymer Bay, across the prestigious St Enodoc golf course. As attractive on the outside, as it is within, Ragleighs has plenty of space to sleep up to fourteen guests, ideal for large families or group celebrations in Cornwall. The lovely garden and sun terrace enables guests to always find a seat in the sunshine or a shady spot to suit all preferences, whilst on a chilly, winters day, the house is equally perfect with plush armchairs and squidgy sofas to lounge upon, with plenty of logs to keep the fire flickering. Views from the house extend over the Camel Estuary, towards the beach at Tregirls, on Padstow's side of the river, making Ragleighs a tranquil base to retire to after a day of exploring. Guests who claim the second-floor bedroom can truly appreciate the vistas from the comfort of their own super-king-size bed, whilst there is a king-size bedroom, and four twin bedrooms on offer, with an additional bedroom/TV room with two sofa beds, suitable for any extra children. The kitchen is more than adequate to cater for a large family with a capacious gas range cooker, breakfast bar and a good-sized dining table, where you can gather, dine, and host, before looking beyond your abode for entertainment. The property lies between Rock and Polzeath, and although they are so close, the calm waters of the estuary are very different from the wilder waves of the Atlantic Ocean. Dramatic cliff tops and surf-able waves dominate Polzeath, while sailing, waterskiing, and yachting can be enjoyed just a car journey away. The sandy bay and calm seashore of Daymer Bay provides another wonderful contrast, set between the two and just a stroll away from Ragleighs; the smooth steep slope of Brea Hill is well worth the climb to admire the awe-inspiring view. With Padstow accessible via ferry or foot, find plenty to see and do in the coastal town, with Padstow Museum, National Lobster Hatchery, and Padstow Sealife Safari trips recommended to discover, before sampling the daily catch from a waterside eatery. Gather your loved ones at Ragleighs.

Daymer Bay and the village of Trebetherick were both loved by Sir John Betjeman and are unquestionably special. With a huge appeal to both the young and not so young, Daymer Bay has recently been voted one of the best beaches in the world! St. Enodoc Church, once buried in the sand, is within comfortable walking distance of Daymer Bay and is the resting place of Sir John Betjeman. Daymer Bay holds great appeal for wind surfers with the waves rolling up the estuary. There is enormous fun too for small children with buckets and spades and fishing in the rock pools. Up from the coast path as it runs from Daymer Bay is Highcliffe, nestling between Polzeath and Trebetherick, both of which boast a number of pubs, restaurants and village stores all offering a wide variety of fresh quality produce. The properties at Highcliffe have the advantage of being within easy reach of Daymer, Polzeath and Greenaway - Greenaway being the name given to the clifftop area, beach and small cove with rock pools overlooking the Atlantic beyond that lies between Daymer and Polzeath.

Generous welcome pack; thoroughly enjoyed our holiday. Perhaps sofa throws could have been changed between uses as previous occupants dog hairs still evident. Would definitely book again

The sofa bed in the games room has very thin mattress and is thus not that comfortable compared with the mattresses on the beds. Could do with an extra mattress to lay over. There are cupboards in the house that are locked and are presumably the owners' private belongings. Some locks were broken and this we reported by phone to John Bray the managing agents. We suggest John Bray rewrite the description sheets to cover that in the blurb in the house. There is also conflicting advice about checkout times and procedures. Folding bedlinen and packing in laundry bags is only mentioned on a laminated sheet in one handbook and no mention on printed pages. Our email gave check out as 9.30 but blurb says 9.00.
