Foxglove Lodge receives high praise for its beautiful location, spacious and well-decorated interiors, and additional comforts like a hot tub and wood burner. Guests appreciate the thoughtful touches from the owners and the lodge's proximity to natural attractions and the coast. The serene setting and wildlife encounters add to the charm of this Devon retreat.

There is no specific mention of cleanliness in the reviews, so it is not possible to provide an accurate score for this category.

The lodge is consistently lauded for its stunning location with great views, quiet surroundings, and proximity to Dartmoor and other scenic areas, making it an ideal base for exploring Devon, Dorset, and Cornwall.

Guests find the lodge to be spacious with plenty of space, comfortable beds, and warm interiors, especially with the wood burner. The presence of multiple toilets and showers adds to the comfort level.

The lodge is well-equipped with a top-of-the-range hot tub and stylish furnishings. However, suggestions for additional hooks and laundry facilities indicate room for improvement in this area.

The owners are praised for their helpfulness and for providing thoughtful extras, such as a football goal for guests' children. While such gestures are highly appreciated, it should be noted that specific gifts or extras are subject to availability and are not guaranteed.

About this property

Foxglove Lodge is a well-presented authentic Norwegian lodge resting in the hamlet of Hittisleigh, amidst rural Devon. Part of a select development of three lodges set within 40 acres of woodland, Foxglove Lodge is nestled between the other two lodges on the site and enjoys an excellent outlook from the decking. This idyllic retreat is set over one floor and welcomes families and friends for a splendid stay: ideal for those who enjoy easy access to Dartmoor. The open-plan living space is uplifted by natural light and offers a space for all to come together and enjoy family time. Allow the chef of the group to become acquainted with the appliances, including an electric oven and induction hob, microwave, fridge and dishwasher, before retiring to the comfortable sofa and lighting the woodburner. Take the evening outside and enjoy alfresco dining from the patio furniture before relaxing under the stars in the hot tub. Make use of the family bathroom for a freshen up before retiring to either of the king-size rooms or the twin bedroom. Come to Devon and experience a stay that will never be forgotten at Foxglove Lodge.

Note: This property can be booked with Ref. 1141259 and 1131573, together sleeping 18 guests.

Hittisleigh is a small, rural hamlet set in mid Devon, located a couple of miles north of the A30 between Exeter and Okehampton. The hamlet is home to the Parish Church of St Andrews, built in the early medieval time with many later historic features such as reputedly the oldest church bells in Devon. Three miles away lies the hamlet of Whiddon Down, home to a fine pub, whilst further afield is the market town of Okehampton, where visitors can explore the ruins of Okehampton Castle, a prominent landmark and testament to the town’s medieval past, or explore several galleries and workshops that celebrate the creativity of local artists. The spectacular Dartmoor National Park is easily accessible and boasts a myriad of walking and hiking trails, spanning through unspoiled countryside and local wildlife.

Very comfy beds, and a super view. Owner was very nice and helpfull. Only would recoment some more hooks in de kitchen, bathrooms and bedrooms. And maybe in time some washing facility's, like a washer, or at least a laundry rack to hang up some wet stuf.

The TV was fixed to the wall at a VERY high level, giving people a stiff neck having looking up so high. I hope this is something the owners feel comfortable in doing.
