About this property

Dartmouth 2.8 miles. The Sail Loft is a well-presented lodge in the scenic Norton Park, just outside of Dartmouth. This single-storey retreat welcomes families looking to escape the rush of everyday life and uncover the attractions of South Devon. Upon arrival you are greeted by an allocated parking space, from which you can unload your belongings before getting to know your new home-from-home. Allow the chef of the group to take over the kitchen while the rest of the group lay the dining table with crockery and cutlery; why not choose a bottle of your favourite tipple to compliment? While away the hours as you wander the communal grounds of the park before retreating inside and washing away the day in the shower room. Both bedrooms feature good storage space and wall-mounted TVs so you can continue your favourite shows in bed. For your local amenities, hop in the car to Dartmouth, home to a great selection of boutique shops, restaurants and art galleries, promising a superb day out. Take the passenger ferry to Kingswear and browse a greater selection of charming streets lined with quirky shops, before stopping at a local pub for a pint and nibble. Join the South West Coastal Path, a must for those keen walkers, journeying along to Dartmouth Castle and providing a great outlook across the Dartmouth Estuary. While in the region, tick off the attractions of the Dartmouth National Park, including Wistman’s Wood, Foggintor Quarry, Shavercombe Falls and the magnificent 19th century Tudor House, Cotehele. With plenty to fill your holiday itinerary, a break at The Sail Loft promises plenty of adventure.

Dartmouth lies on the banks of the beautiful River Dart estuary in the popular and picturesque South Hams area of South Devon. Located within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and close to the coast, Dartmouth is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Devon. It offers a stunning waterfront, ancient narrow streets lined with boutique shops, restaurants and art galleries plus many local events such as the annual Dart Music Festival and the Port of Dartmouth Royal Regatta, along with the Dartmouth Food Festival held every October. There are many interesting cycling and walking routes around Dartmouth, including the South West Coast Path, the Dart Valley Trail and plenty of quiet country lanes. A trip on the Dartmouth Steam Railway through picturesque countryside to Paignton is a must, and so is a boat trip across to Kingswear and on to Brixham, a pretty little harbour town. For those seeking some beach activities, there is a wide choice in the South Hams area such as Blue Flag Award winner Blackpool Sands, and Slapton Sands, both extremely popular and just a stone's throw from Dartmouth. A relaxing location in South Devon.

Also having large green space on site to have a run around on evening on site was great, which also had lovely views over Dartmouth. Accommodation had everything we needed and was very clean and tidy. Also handy having both petrol station, Lidl and Sainsbury's very close by really handy. We did notice the shower occasionally leaked at the back and it leaked under the wall in the lounge, although easy to clean up and only happened twice.

There was only 1 slight objection to class it a perfect stay and that would be having no WiFi. Had there been children staying in the lodge this would probably cause issues. Unfortunately due to hip and knee problems the sofa was too low for me to sit on but at least I could use the dining room chair. It would not deter us from returning at a future date though.
