About this property

This dreamy three bedroomed cottage sits close to the waters edge and in a tranquil part of Salcombe. Fire up the pizza oven and immerse yourself in cadlelit conversation, enjoy the twinkling water of the nearby creek, and hunker down in this darling cottage by the sea. If you are booking Buckley Cottage for Christmas or anytime in December, the cottage will be decorated for Christmas with a Christmas tree so you can arrive to a festive and warm welcoming atmosphere!

Buckley Street is a gorgeous traditional Devon cottage nestled into tranquil Batson, where the pace of life is a little more refined.

It is a flat 7 minute walk along the creek to the main hubbub of Salcombe, and perfectly placed to walk your woofer around the iconic Snapes Point loop – the views over Salcombe town, the golden sandy beaches, and down the estuary are absolutely sensational.

If paddle-boarding beckons, walk meters down from Buckley Cottage to the waters edge at high tide and cruise along for a morning vitamin sea fix, or a gentle sunset paddle.

Upon entering the cottage you’ll find the gorgeous, spacious open plan living and dining area, with steps up to the well-equipped kitchen, and doors out to the terrace. The huge fireplace with a wood burner is utterly divine, and the perfect tonic following brisk winter walks, or for warming up after a day on the water.

The terrace overlooks peaceful Batson creek where the tide ebbs in and out, and is the ultimate sun-trap for catching some rays whilst relaxing with a book or simply chilling out. In the evening, grab a drink and and fire up the pizza oven for memorable al fresco dining.

Upstairs, three beautifully presented bedrooms will delight with their clever styling and vintage fabrics. The spacious kingsize master bedroom, gorgeous twin room and nautical bunk room each have their own unique charm and wonderful textiles.

A family bathroom (bath, shower over bath, WC) and another separate WC complete the first floor.

Behind the cottage is the garden which children will love exploring. Climb to the top of the garden to sit and enjoy the evening sun and views over the estuary.

Two well behaved doggies welcome, there is additional charge per dog per week

We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Buckley Cottage - we have both said that it's been our favourite place to stay in Salcombe. We loved the chic decor, wonderful fire for the evenings when the sun dipped behind the trees, absolutely amazing wood-fired oven which we used numerous times and the patio is just the perfect place to watch life on the creek come and go. The garden at the back is beyond sweet and we enjoyed our morning cup of tea sitting in the swings taking in the sun soaked views of Batson. Fun for big kids too! The games in the foot stool in the living room were a lovely touch and we enjoyed many a night fireside after a day in the sun playing cards, checkers, etc with a glass or two of wine.
