Mead Chapel is beautifully set amidst the picture-perfect Somerset village of Drayton, with an excellent village pub/restaurant just a few minutes walk away; and provides a restful and romantic getaway whatever the time of year.

Mead Chapel has been architecturally restored and converted into a stylish and unique Rural Retreat. Entering the chapel through the original double chapel doors, there’s a stone floor hallway with space for coats and muddy boots. Wander through the next set of double doors where the ground floor opens out into a beautiful, vaulted sitting room with dining area. The solid oak floor then leads through to the well-equipped kitchen, and a modern shower room with large walk-in shower. When it’s time for bed, head up the stairs to the cosy mezzanine bedroom, furnished with a king-size bed dressed in designer cotton linens. To the front of the Chapel there’s a picnic table for enjoying your morning coffee or a glass of wine in the evening. There is also a small area of lawn either side of the Chapel with two oak chairs for relaxing after a day exploring.

Radiating a timeless charm, the sleepy village of Drayton has streets lined with a mix of period cottages and impressive larger houses, and also a charming a 15th century church. Not only is there a friendly pub/restaurant within walking distance, but the nearby villages of Curry Rivel and Langport are just a short drive away and offer a great choice of independent shops, supermarkets, cafes and restaurants, as well as riverside activities along the River Parrett. Beautiful nature walks start right from the doorstep of Mead Chapel, offering plenty of scope to explore the Somerset levels and nearby Dorset.
