Guests say

Henmarsh Cottage is highly praised for its cleanliness, comfort, and idyllic location in Gloucestershire, making it a perfect retreat for dog owners and those seeking peace in the Cotswolds. Guests appreciate the friendly and helpful owners, the well-maintained property with a secure garden, and the proximity to walking routes and local attractions. The thoughtful touches, including festive decorations and a welcome Prosecco, contribute to the cottage's charm, although such gifts are not guaranteed.

Guests that stayed at this property said

Reviews consistently mention the cottage being clean and well-kept, with only one minor note about cobwebs which is attributed to the rural setting rather than a lack of cleanliness.

The location is frequently described as quiet, peaceful, and ideal for exploring the Cotswolds, with lovely walks and dog-friendly areas nearby. The only drawback mentioned is the lack of nearby shops, which is typical for a rural setting.

Guests find the cottage comfortable, cosy, and characterful, with special mentions of good sleeping conditions and a warm reception. The enclosed garden and the spacious kitchen are highlighted for their convenience.

The cottage is well-equipped with necessary facilities, including a bath, fireplace, and good WiFi. Some guests suggest that there is not much to do locally, but this is more a reflection of personal interests rather than the facilities themselves.

The owners are commended for their thoughtfulness, such as providing extra firewood, festive decorations, and a welcome bottle of Prosecco. However, it is politely noted that such gifts are kind gestures and not guaranteed amenities.

About this property

Henmarsh Cottage is wonderful, pet friendly, cosy cottage set in glorious Cotswold countryside. Located on the edge of a beautiful village and just 7 minutes from Moreton in Marsh and 10 minutes from Stow on the Wold. There are stunning views creating a fabulous 'away from it all' spot that always has customers returning for more! The cottage is converted from an old barn and has many character features incl exposed beams, wooden floors and a woodburning stove. This is mixed with attractive contemporary touches - all adding to its charm. In our opinion this cottage offers superb value in a cracking location with great walks from your doorstep- in fact a bridal path is directly opposite the cottage leading to miles of open countryside!

Please note, Henmarsh Cottage only accepts short breaks Nov - end Feb. Please call for last minute bookings.

Barton On the Heath an attractive village located in open countryside mid-way between the Cotswold towns of Chipping Norton and Moreton in Marsh. The area is particularly beautiful as it enjoys unspoilt rolling countryside with many delightful villages all nearby and similarly attractive.

Set in the countryside with only the sounds of the swallows in the barn and buzzing bees it was so relaxing. It's an ideal centre too for exploring the area . Suzie and James the owners couldn't have been more kind, helpful and accommodating..We really hope to return in the not to distant future.

Also central for all the local attractions and lovely quaint villages , yet away from the hustle and bustle , would definitely stay here again.
