Swainby is a village in the Hambleton district of North Yorkshire. Swainby is located at the north-western corner of the North York Moors National Park. The characteristics of the village and the surrounding area consist of traditional Yorkshire dry stone walls, hills, sheep, heather and moorland. The village is close to the ruins of Whorlton Castle. Owner contacted myself just after I had booked it etc I had to contact owner a few days before we arrived to see if we could arrive a little earlier that was fine. Off street parking not a problem at all only a very short walk less than 30 seconds to cottage. Blacksmiths Arms in village lovely pub went 3 times . Only one thing to really day is the Village Store shop only opens Friday, Saturday & Sunday but Stokesley just up the road and Guisborough 20 mins away have a good number of shops if needed. Only problem is you are a bit to far away from a few places near to the seaside other than that we really enjoyed it.
